Title: New Gervais stand-up tour (Science) Post by: Rossi on Friday, May 15, 2009, 13:04:17 Went on sale this morning. I've managed to get 6 tickets for the Manchester Apollo on a Thursday (there are no weekend dates) in November. Planning on getting 2 days off work and making a weekend of it with some mates.
I went to see Fame in Portsmouth and it was brilliant. Gervais is possibly my favorite famous person and I can't get enough of his work, so I'm really looking forward to this. Anyone else managed to get tickets? There's only a few dates/venues at the moment but I'm sure there will be more released soon Title: Re: New Gervais stand-up tour (Science) Post by: Sippo on Friday, May 15, 2009, 13:10:19 I saw Fame and thought it was crap. So won't be going to see his new one even though I'm a big fan.

I admit that it wasn't his best stand-up to date, but it did seem a LOT funnier when watching it liveTitle: Re: New Gervais stand-up tour (Science) Post by: Sippo on Friday, May 15, 2009, 13:20:26 You thought so? I saw it Bournemouth. It just seemed a little too routined for me.
Title: Re: New Gervais stand-up tour (Science) Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Friday, May 15, 2009, 14:22:14 Fame was a little bit of a let down given his previous two tours. I love his series though. Extras and The Office are class.

£30? No thank you. Title: Re: New Gervais stand-up tour (Science) Post by: oxford_fan on Sunday, May 17, 2009, 20:27:19 Saw Fame in Cardiff and thought it was alright. Got tickets for the Oxford show of Science on the Wednesday.
Some mates saw Merchant do a gig in Camden last week, to a small crowd of about 100. It only cost a fiver and they said he was brilliant. Title: Re: New Gervais stand-up tour (Science) Post by: juddie on Sunday, May 17, 2009, 20:32:00 apparently pilkington has a book out which is dead funny
Title: Re: New Gervais stand-up tour (Science) Post by: hobodan on Sunday, May 17, 2009, 21:07:48 just tried to get 2 tickets for any of the days at oxfords new theatre.
just says 'no matches found', guess they've sold out!! Title: Re: New Gervais stand-up tour (Science) Post by: oxford_fan on Sunday, May 17, 2009, 21:13:58 They went on sale on Friday at 10am, I tried at 12 and there were none left. Then on Saturday tickets for the extra date on the 14th were released, I managed to get two for the balcony (worst seats) at midday.
It seems they were going like hot cakes, I thought they'd sell out but not that fast. Title: Re: New Gervais stand-up tour (Science) Post by: jonny72 on Sunday, May 17, 2009, 21:24:25 I only like him in the office How can you only like him in The Office, when he plays the same part in everything he does. If you like him in The Office you must like everything he does, and vice versa. A one trick pony who's trick isn't funny or clever any more. Title: Re: New Gervais stand-up tour (Science) Post by: Doore on Sunday, May 17, 2009, 23:33:51 How can you only like him in The Office, when he plays the same part in everything he does. If you like him in The Office you must like everything he does, and vice versa. Well no, because his one character works in the office, but doesn't work in other TV programmes/film/stand up. Context is everything. Title: Re: New Gervais stand-up tour (Science) Post by: BANGKOK RED on Monday, May 18, 2009, 02:12:53 I watched a movie the other day called "ghost story", starring Ricky Gervais.
Needless to say it was abysmal. Needless to say it was abysmal. You mean Ghost Town? I watched it on the plane over to India and thought it was alright. Have seen worse movies http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost_Town_(film) Title: Re: New Gervais stand-up tour (Science) Post by: Simon Pieman on Monday, May 18, 2009, 10:38:59 It wasn't as bad as Run Fatboy Run, but it was close.
