Title: Re: I have retired... Post by: Nomoreheroes on Sunday, April 26, 2009, 14:03:47 Retirement lasts a long time. After 7 years I am coming out of cricket retirement. Bitten by the bug again and am as excited about playing as I was as a teenager. Decided to buy myself one of these beasts so that if there is any 'Fatso' sledging they are obviously talking about the bat!

Decided to buy myself one of these beasts so that if there is any 'Fatso' sledging they are obviously talking about the bat! Looks like a monster. I'm hoping to get back into cricket this summer. I've barely bowled a ball in the last 2 years, and haven't played properly for 3 or 4, but hopefully it shouldn't be difficult to get back into the swing of it after a few net sessions etc. Got to wait until my exams are over first though...Title: Re: I have retired... I got myself the CJI classic some time ago, cracking bats. A little bit on the weighty side though! Enjoy knocking people for 6, as well as knocking them out.Title: Re: I have retired... Enjoy knocking people for 6, as well as knocking them out. Like a heavy bat myself. My Fatso LE is 3lbs 2oz (but with a much lighter pick up). Got a 2lbs 7oz Ultimate for #1 son and a junior Fatso for #2. Can't afford to go for a beer after the games now! Had a little practice yesterday - Got the timing of a broken watch! Hopefully it will come back soon. Title: Re: I have retired... Post by: dell boy on Sunday, April 26, 2009, 19:17:43 I still have a game to play this season for the Vets.
I'm the youngest in the back four at 54 - 55 in a couple of weeks. At 6'3'' I'm also the smallest, but not the thinest, never give up, go another season mate. Title: Re: I have retired... Post by: leefer on Sunday, April 26, 2009, 19:18:55 Play golf....or try like me,its a gentlemans game!

Title: Re: I have retired... Post by: magicroundabout on Monday, April 27, 2009, 10:56:25 i had to retire after snapping my cruciate ligament 3 seasons ago.
3 ops later it's fixed but i wont risk playing incase it snaps again. Golf on a sunday is much more fun and relaxing. well until you spend half the day looking for all the balls you've shanked into the bushes Title: Re: I have retired...
