I'm a big fan of the FA Cup and its long history. I always get the FA Cup Final Saturday off work so I'm glad there's some kind of underdog involved.

Hopefully it'll work the same way Liverpool vs. West Ham did a few years ago.

Agree with the sentiments wanting the under dog to win and hopefully Everton will do Chelsea in the final but I don't see how you thought United were shit? they left out 9 first teamers and still managed to match Everton for 120 minutes and controlled large parts of the game.

As for Berbatov I am sure Ferguson will have a kind word or two with him after that appalling penalty.

A boring game. I just wanted to moan that it turned out how I expected. Much like when we play shit - I expect it, but I don't like it.

More often than not the FA Cup turns shit at the semi final / final stage. Teams that normally play attractive, attacking, free flowing football suddenly play the most boring shit in the world. I was so bored watching today that I slept through most of it.

Ref was awful, pitch even worse. How can they build a stadium like that and then put some decent grass on the pitch. Good news that Man Utd lost though.

the team out today was good enough to beat everton. I can understand some fans who paid £x to travel down from manchester might have been a bit pissed off, but there was enough quality in that team to win. They were comfortbale against a top six team, after all.

It's a fine line isn't it; you can understand fergie wanting to preserve his first team for this week's game against Pompey, and had United been awarded that penalty yesterday everyone would be raving about how good his kids were. As it was, despite losing on penalties, they held the fifth best team in England. Still not bad.

Mind, you, Villa rested their first team and look what happened to them, it doesn;t always work. Personally I would have started with Scholes and Berbatov and given welbeck and Macheda a half each.

Still, it was a comedy reaction from fergie when the penalty wasn't given, proper toys out of the pram!

United get so many decisions go their way (i cant remeber how many pens have been given at Old Trafford since the Prem was formed but it is a pitiful amount) but always moan like fuck when they lose (rare event).

Personally, if they had a league game against one of the other big guns on Wednesday, I can understand playing a weakened team, but they are playing Pompey, who they can definately beat with a weakened team.

Regarding penalties, you live by the sword, you die by the sword. If JT didn't slip in the European Cup final last season, they would be the current champs, not Manure, so Ferguson...Get over it !!
