For the Adver that is...still cant believe Comminges won it last year,other notable winners that maybe are suprising..Russel Lewis,Scott Endersby,Frank Talia,Tim Parkin,Steve Mildenhall.
The fact is that a keeper has won it alot of times tells us abit i suppose...Coxy will get it this year no doubt.
Players who have won it twice are John Trollope,Joe Butler,Sam Parkin.
Two players have done the treble..Fraser Digby and Shaun Taylor.

But the worrying stat for me personally is that i can remember voting for Colin Calderwood twenty Four years ago!!!...he won it in 85/6.

p.s...i forgot to mention another notable winner was Matty Heywood!

Didn't Shaun Taylor only ever win it when we sold the player who really would've won it...Shearer and Fjortoft spring to mind (can't remember the third time)?

Not sure...but cant believe Don Rogers only won it once.

cox has to be a shoe-in this year.

Pook or Kanyuka, for sure.

Cox will obviously win but I bet we can get a second place as nobody will vote for anyone else.

The obvious choice is Cox, played every game minus suspensions, he has been fantastic.

The only other players I would think of giving my vote to are Jack Smith or Billy Paynter.

At the end of the day it has got to be SIMON COX. If he leaves us then good luck to him, you have been a star.

Cox -> Paynter -> Timlin for me. Though third place is much of a muchness really

Jack Smith has been terrible, his defending is awful.  Not even close to player of the year.

My opinion is Jack Smith was our best defender for 3/4 of the season. No worse than Amankwha at defending for me.

Smith is a much better defender than Amankwaah, plus he can actually pass a football and keep it on the floor. The only thing Amanwaah has over Smith is pace, apart from that Smith is far better.

No doubt that Cox will win the award, followed by Paynter and then Greer in my opinion.

And height.

That is a crazy statement, spend the whole game watching Smith he plays 2/3 yards off wingers and gets done every time.  He has been at fault for goals we have conceded a few times this season.  I would rate Greer, Morrison, Vincent, Amankwah and maybe even Aljofree ahead of him.  Don't get me wrong Jack is good going forward and is good on the ball but his defensive ability is very very weak.

As everyone else is going to vote for Cox, it wouldn't take much to rig second place. Probably only need about a dozen votes. Pick someone JFW and I'll vote for them.
