Title: MotoGP Post by: alanmayes on Sunday, April 12, 2009, 16:00:42 Tonight sees the start of the new MotoGP season, with the race in Qatar.BBC 3 live coverage from 8.45 pm.
I like all of the motor racing, whether it's Formula 1,Speedway or MotoGP.There are some good personalities such as Valentino Rossi,James Toseland and others. One the things i like most about the bike racing,is the constant overtaking, whether it's the riders at the front, middle or back of the race. There always seems to be something going on. This programme was shown on BBC2 at lunchtime and is a preview for the upcoming season. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00jw840/MotoGP_12_04_2009/ Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Samdy Gray on Sunday, April 12, 2009, 16:10:21 Cannot fucking wait, it's going to be a great season. I've been watching the practice sessions and qualifying.
I think Stoner might pip it from Rossi this year. If Lorenzo can keep it on the tarmac he'll push close, but I don't think he's quite up to standard yet. Saying that he'll probably bin it on the first corner tonight :) I hope JT does well this season, but I don't think his bike is good enough. Making everyone use the same tyres is a bit of a leveller, but I think it'll show JT up for only being a good rider when he's got a good bike under him. Was going to make the effort to go to Donnington this year, but it falls on the same weeked as WorldNet so not going to be able to make it :( Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Samdy Gray on Sunday, April 12, 2009, 20:31:20 Well that's a fucking shitter. The race gets called off for rain. In the middle of the desert.
Roll on Motegi. Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Bogus Dave on Sunday, April 12, 2009, 20:42:03 Pah, what tinpot sort of racing gets called off for rain...
Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Monday, April 13, 2009, 07:50:32 I cant believe that rain!! - been watching the practice and qualifiying all weekend!! enjoyed the extra JT interviews though ;) we tend to stick with euro sport coverage rather than the beeb though
I heard about Suzi Perry too - poor lady - hope shes back soon Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Samdy Gray on Monday, April 13, 2009, 09:54:40 She should be back for round 3 in Jerez in 3 weeks time.
Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: ronnie21 on Monday, April 13, 2009, 12:39:03 She should be back for round 3 in Jerez in 3 weeks time. She is one sexy lady, any one know what the problem was?Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Samdy Gray on Monday, April 13, 2009, 19:13:09 Ectopic pregnancy.

Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Tuesday, April 14, 2009, 10:01:23 I forget about things like that!
Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: LucienSanchez on Tuesday, April 14, 2009, 10:08:55 i remembered it was on there, yet forgot to watch it... i am stoopid
Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Samdy Gray on Tuesday, April 14, 2009, 10:25:12 I missed it :(
Although it was obvious Stoner was going to win it. My man Valentino will peg him back at Motegi. Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: No Longer Posh Red on Tuesday, April 14, 2009, 16:55:04 Pah, what tinpot sort of racing gets called off for rain... Formula One :D Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: No Longer Posh Red on Tuesday, April 14, 2009, 16:57:27 Wasn't the best racing ever.
What about De'Angelis' move on Pedrosa  perhaps he can't see Orange Repsol Honda's in the dark. Did enjoy the 250 race though Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Wednesday, April 15, 2009, 16:44:29 Wasn't the best racing ever. What about De'Angelis' move on Pedrosa  perhaps he can't see Orange Repsol Honda's in the dark. Did enjoy the 250 race though how the hell did he stay on?? will he get done for that? Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: No Longer Posh Red on Wednesday, April 15, 2009, 19:11:08 how the hell did he stay on?? will he get done for that? I don't think so, the stewards investigated the incident and I haven't heard that there was any penalty. I guess he will just have to watch his back at the next round, although I don't think Pedrosa is the type to get involved in anything too physical. Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Samdy Gray on Wednesday, April 15, 2009, 21:15:49 De Angelis just got the drive on a bit too early out of the corner. Pedrosa stayed on so he's got nothing to moan about.
Not like Rossi on Gibernau at Jerez in 2005. Sete nearly lumped Vale in the pit lane afterwards. Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Friday, April 17, 2009, 10:14:14 anyone know when the British superbikes are at Thruxton this year?

Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Dazzza on Monday, June 1, 2009, 17:48:28 TT is just starting over here, caught a few of the practices on Saturday before an evening of liquid refreshment. I'm not really much of a bike fan but the speed of these fellas on open roads is breathtaking when you're only a couple of metres away.
A few of the newcomers leading the way even bloody waved at us on the way past. Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: axs on Monday, June 1, 2009, 21:18:24 Fair play, your boyfriend is pretty fast. Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Samdy Gray on Monday, June 15, 2009, 10:56:51 Yep, I believe he finished 13th. He'll probably be without a ride next season, wouldn't be surprised to see him back in WSB.
Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Monday, June 15, 2009, 11:06:22 hmmm he is being a little pants this season isnt he

what a good race for completely different reasons to catalunya Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Monday, June 29, 2009, 13:39:28 JT was awesome - when I marry him you can all come to the reception OK?
Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Samdy Gray on Monday, June 29, 2009, 14:08:27 Wasn't really that awesome. Only finished 6th thanks to Capirossi and Elias taking each other off on the last corner.
Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Batch on Monday, June 29, 2009, 14:11:37 Oh yeah, after the digs at F1, I looked up MotoGP recent Winners :

Go go power rangers. Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Monday, June 29, 2009, 14:13:03 Wasn't really that awesome. Only finished 6th thanks to Capirossi and Elias taking each other off on the last corner. I meant awesome to me! Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Samdy Gray on Monday, June 29, 2009, 14:19:50 Nice to see its more varied than the 4 wheel sport. Go go power rangers. But it is more competitive on the track though. More overtaking gives for more exciting races. I dare you to find any F1 race that was better than the last 2 laps of the Catalunya MotoGP a few weeks ago. As for Doohan and Rossi's dominance, Doohan had a revolutionary "big bang" Honda made NSR500 which was streets ahead of anything else other manufacturers were making. And Rossi is probably the most talented rider the world has ever seen, proving his dominance by winning the championship on 3 different machines. Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Batch on Monday, June 29, 2009, 14:47:26 But it is more competitive on the track though. More overtaking gives for more exciting races. I dare you to find any F1 race that was better than the last 2 laps of the Catalunya MotoGP a few weeks ago. The last corner of the last grand prix 208-2009. Admittedly rain induced mind. http://www.crash.net/motogp/news/149297/1/the_office_with_rossi_lorenzo_edwards_toseland.html I found it very funny!!! Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Samdy Gray on Monday, July 6, 2009, 13:40:09 Not watched it yet, but heard about it yesterday.
Your man JT didn't do too well yesterday. Got black flagged after ignoring the drive-through penalty. How the fuck Lorenzo managed to bring it home in 3rd place I'll never know. He couldn't even walk properly when he got off the bike. Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Monday, July 6, 2009, 14:41:07 shhhhh I havent watched it yet! - Ive skyplused it as was knackered after work!
Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Samdy Gray on Monday, July 6, 2009, 14:46:03 You might as well watch the first two laps and then fast forward to the last two. Nothing much happens in between apart from a few bikes being chucked into the gravel. Nothing spectacular though.
Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Monday, July 6, 2009, 14:49:23 eugh boring!
I did watch the BSB though - Nice to see Tommy Bridewell doing so well wining the privateers Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Samdy Gray on Monday, July 6, 2009, 14:54:05 eugh boring! I know. I was hoping for a re-run of Rossi vs. Stoner from last year, but Stoner's just too far off the pace at the moment due to his virus. Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: 4D on Sunday, July 26, 2009, 22:03:37 A few thrills and spills today at Donnington.
Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Fred Elliot on Sunday, July 26, 2009, 22:11:15 T'was a good race mate
the way Rossi came back to 5th after he binned it was genius STAY OFF THE FUCKING PAINT !!!! Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Samdy Gray on Monday, July 27, 2009, 07:24:04 Parish got right on my fucking tits with that.
Surprised RdP managed to keep it upright long enough to see it home in 3rd. Would've been fun if he'd managed to catch Dovi as they usually try to take each other off. Good ride from Edwards as well, I've always like him since his WSB days. Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Monday, July 27, 2009, 10:06:27 Rossi is sheer class
I always thought he was gay as a goose you know but apprently he has a girlfriend? (who is a tad on the ropey side) I love Mr Toseland very much even though Im thinking he may not be a GP rider next season!! I also decided yesterday I still want to fufill my ambition to be a brolly girl even though Im am way to short and not pretty enough! Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Bennett on Monday, July 27, 2009, 16:27:43 did you see what foggy said about him Charlotte?
Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, 10:51:48 No? was he mean?
Ill kick his horrid pointy beardy face!! Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Bennett on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, 16:24:12 he said that perhaps Toseland hasn't got any passion for motogp as he's already won a championship etc and that we should put a younger brit on a bike instead.
Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, 16:26:04 silly beardy old man!
Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Bennett on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, 16:30:24 erm i'd trust his word over JT's to be fair!
Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Wednesday, July 29, 2009, 11:41:38 Dont diss my (future) husband please Bennett - its upsets me
Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Leggett on Wednesday, July 29, 2009, 12:43:19 Stick that bradley whats-his-face from the 125s on JTs trusty steed and see how he goes! I can't remember the last time a WSB rider crossed over into motogp and was competitive. I can't remember which troy (corser or bayliss?) Jumped into motogp and then said its a completely different way of riding, you have to effectively re-learn how to race.
Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Samdy Gray on Wednesday, July 29, 2009, 13:09:08 I can't remember which troy (corser or bayliss?) Jumped into motogp and then said its a completely different way of riding, you have to effectively re-learn how to race. It was Bayliss. The difference between the two championships is huge. It's like comparing F1 to Touring Car racing. MotoGP bikes are purpose built racing machines, WSB bikes are just standard road bikes with a bit of tuning and slick tyres. Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Bennett on Sunday, June 6, 2010, 12:41:39 valentino's going to have 6 months off then. bugger
Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Bennett on Sunday, October 3, 2010, 11:17:30 i like a nice clean fight and all that, but i prefer Rossi to get one over on Lorenzo, even if it's for third.
looks like it was an awesome race from these short highlights: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/motorbikes/9055377.stm Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Sunday, October 3, 2010, 12:44:53 I'm still not married to James Toseland it's not fair! :(
Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: No Longer Posh Red on Sunday, October 3, 2010, 13:21:31 It was a fantastic last two laps, it certainly looked ike Rossi was desperate to beat Jorge (and vice-versa).
Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: london_red on Sunday, March 20, 2011, 18:55:50 New season about to start in Qatar. Should be an interesting one with a few of the big players moving to new teams.
Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Bennett on Sunday, March 20, 2011, 19:50:43 definitely interesting. as a rossi fan it wasn't that great a race, but Cal finishing was awesome
Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Samdy Gray on Sunday, March 20, 2011, 20:16:08 Considering his shoulder is costing him 0.5 seconds per lap, that was an astonishing ride from Rossi. I nearly came in my pants when he jumped from 9th to 2nd from the start.
No one was ever beating Stoner. The championship is his to throw away already. Pedrosa will just fall to pieces again and Lorenzo just hasn't got the temperament. He's bound to chuck it in to the gravel a few times. Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Crispy on Sunday, March 20, 2011, 20:34:52 Quality. Stoner will do jobs all day long!

Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Samdy Gray on Sunday, March 20, 2011, 22:07:34 Next weekend. But let's keep that out of this thread. This one's for bikes only.
Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: No Longer Posh Red on Sunday, March 20, 2011, 23:23:41 No real surprise that Stoner won, He has always been quick in Qatar, and the Honda has looked very fast so far this year.
More of a concern is the problem that Danny mentioned after the race. If he doesn't get it sorted then it's going to be a two horse race this season (at least until Vale gets over his surgery) Will be interesting to see how Stoner goes at Jerez, which should favour Lorenzo. Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Monday, March 21, 2011, 07:45:56 definitely interesting. as a rossi fan it wasn't that great a race, but Cal finishing was awesome He did so well - hope he has a good season Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: Chubbs on Monday, March 21, 2011, 08:37:30 watched my first moto gp race last night (missus and family are massive fans) i quite enjoyed it.

Title: Re: MotoGP Post by: herthab on Monday, March 21, 2011, 10:54:47 Nice story. I thought the ending let it down.
