Winner will be state of play second Lami.

Think the ground might be a bit quick for State of Play. I like L'ami but cant trust his jumping.

Was going to look at Black Apalachi but again it's good ground now... I like Big Fella Thanks and Cornish Sett.

Who knows, just take anything 33-1 and in and draw it out of a hat!

I've drawn Hear The Echo? in my work sweepstake. I know nothing about horse racing and i hate it but i have seen it's at 16/1. What are the chances do you reckon?

Boylesports are paying out on top 6 for e/w bets. I suspect other bookies will follow, but I haven't really looked about.

Cloudy Lane

Big Fella Thanks
Silver Birch
Mon Mome

Each of them £10 E/W. In the last 5 years I've cleared about £400 profit. This year its pay back time.

Title: Re: grand national
Post by: axs on Saturday, April 4, 2009, 09:45:56
IS it starting odds that you get? There's no odds listed against the bets in my account and they're on the SP Placed tab, whatever that might be. I really don't know what I'm doing.

Title: Re: grand national
Post by: Bogus Dave on Saturday, April 4, 2009, 09:50:10
I've just drawn Rambling minister and killbeggan blade. Its all looking good

Title: Re: grand national
Post by: michael on Saturday, April 4, 2009, 09:51:41
SP = Starting Price

I don't use Betfair so don't know if you can fix the odds at their current price or not, you certainly can on my chosen betting site.

Title: Re: grand national
Post by: axs on Saturday, April 4, 2009, 09:52:29
Cheers michael, that was my guess.

Title: Re: grand national
Post by: Simon Pieman on Saturday, April 4, 2009, 11:08:24
I've got fixed odds on Betfair, you've obviously selected the starting prices option instead.

Interesting little read on Betfair here if you have 5 minutes to burn:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2009/mar/29/betfair-horse-racing

I have gone for Rambling Minister, L'Ami (e/w) and Darkness (e/w).

The last of my choices is being ridden by a Swindonian.

Boylesports pay for the extra 2 places by lowering the odds across the board.

No point going there if you are hoping to pick the winner.
