Title: Shakes not a done deal...
Post by: Dazzza on Monday, May 23, 2005, 00:25:49
Has a trial lined up with Watford this week so doesn't look like it's quite in the bag as the impression I get from the media.

Shame if we lose out as he looks to be quite a bright prospect.

I read he is a London lad and wanted to come back closer to home so I guess I can't blame him for looking at Watford.

Its only a trial, reading sme Bury views on him I'd be suprised if he was ready to step up to championship footy, but who knows!

I fucking knew this would happen, why did King have to go on about this guy if we haven't actually signed him.  King's a fucking prick.

That is one thing you can't blame King for. Shakes publicly said Swindon was his preferred option over bury, his agent will make the press perfectly aware of who's looking at him. Theres no way King can keep that quiet even if he wanted to.

I cant see Watford taking him on. I would have thought they'd be after a better class of player than him.

We'll have him though - cheap labour

If he's considering a contract offer from us he won' be on much and even Watford who are cost cutting will be able to afford to take him on as a squad player.

Hopefully the lad wants first team football guaranteed.

Talk about clinging onto threads of hope!

true, but

A) I cant see watford wanting him, his only experiaence is league 2 football
B) he may want regular first team football, which we can offer.

I could see him blowing us out for another league 1 club though
