Title: Members lounge
Post by: Colin Todd on Wednesday, March 18, 2009, 13:51:01
Anyone been in there?

Is it any good?

Worth an extra £10?  The £10 includes food and a programme, right?

NO NO AND NO AGAIN

The food is TERRIBLE - well I think it is - not worth £10 at all in my opinion

we went in there the other Tuesday as thought it would be good to have tea there etc but the food was very poor - its only one course and we didnt get a very big portion

The only plus points are getting to sit down and flirting with youth team players

I knew I shouldnt have used the words "Youth Team Player" and "portion" in the same sentence!  ::)

I'm doing this Saturday.  I'll probably not bother with flirting with the youth team players mind.

Took a Middlseborough fan with me today. Personally thought it was well worth the extra £10.

On the food front it won't win awards, but it was nice enough. Hard to stuff up chicken and chips mind.

The best way to describe it is, it's akin to booking an airport departure lounge (without free drinks) - it's nice to get away from the unwashed masses, and it's nice to sit in the exec area - though I am not sure that is guaranteed.

Back to being one of the unwashed next game.

Its a good idea, sort of a half way house. I had lasange and chips for Cheltenham and thought it was alright. I like the wooden floor, bar stools and sky sports news in the corner.

But if they want to make some real money then they need to open up a half time bar for the Town End.

I get the feeling that this is just one of the reasons the season tickets aren't cheaper in the town end, because there's only one food kiosk that doesn't serve beer.

As for the members lounge, I haven't been up there on a matchday but seemed decent enough. At least they've put a bit of effort into tidying the place up.
