I saw him miss one, but you are getting warmer.

Not Trevor Anderson.

Not Trevor Anderson.

I wasn't offering Trevor Anderson as an answer....I'm not going to consider the question unless there's a bit more clarity to the question.

"This record of 28 consecutive penalties is widely believed to be a world record. In 1985 a question about XXXXX's  penalty kicks appeared in the first edition of the popular board game 'XXXXXXX XXXXXXX'."

So we're looking for a fella who scored 28 consecutive pens....he could have missed a few either side?

We're not talking % success rate or owt...also not necessarily STFC?

Ray Stewart usually crops up on pen questions.

  That was V Walsall Reg

The great Peter Noble.

We are talking about a player with a 100% record in the professional game.

"XXXXX ended his career having scored every penalty he took."

My mistake... it was just the 2 v Aldershot

The great Peter Noble.

That is absolutely 100% correct.
I wouldn't be surprised if there is an Adver article tomorrow, if thy read the forum.

Funnily enough i was looking up some facts about Peter only today! His record of penalties was whilst
he was at Burnley.I had forgotten about this fact and was surprised to read about it.

It was great to see most of our 69 League Cup winning side yesterday.Apparently,Radio Swindon/BBC Wilts
have done a long interview with Danny Williams and will broadcast this throughout the week.Danny resides
in Bournemouth these days.

Maybe DV could work out, which STFC player scored the most penalties for the club.

I suppose Rogers was thought the better penalty taker.  I haven't looked it up but I think his record for Swindon was something like 25 out of 26.  I did see one he missed in a home game shooting into the Town End, can't remember who against.

Must admit I thought it might have been Phil Neal...he was one hell of a penalty taker.

Geoff Hurst was probably the best penalty taker I've ever seen, followed by Paul Bodin.

In the amateaur game, a guy for Slough scored 28 on the trot and missed his 29th when it hit the post, I'm trying to remember his name, its my age, it will come to me.

STFC Bodin, & Le Tissier I think only missed 1 or 2 in 30ish

Wasn't a penalty but he took a free kick one game that fizzed past the post and smacked me right in the face on the SB, knocked me senseless, which might well explain a few things!

No matter what Bodin's overall penalty taking record was, surely the fact that he missed one which pretty much stopped Wales from qualifying for the World Cup (or was it a European Championship) puts pay to any claims of him being a good penalty taker. He must still have nightmares about that.

On the flip side - It did stop Wales.
Also his penalty putting us into the premiership was 'quite important'

It was, but he came awfully close to fucking that one up as well.

I still remember that like it was yesterday; its still all in slow motion, people praying, heart racing, not seeing the ball go in but the net moved and then going completely and utterly ape shit and not calming down for at least 12 hours. Probably the greatest game of football I've ever seen.

I still have nightmares about Archie Bown's missed pen in the FA Cup semi final replay of 1912.

Crozzer, I think Don Roger's penalty miss came against Leyton Orient but can't remember in which season it was.
