Post by: Sippo on Friday, February 27, 2009, 13:38:53

I would imagine most male barbers offer a cuthroat shave although there might not be many with heated towels.

Never had it myself.

Do they though. I think most don't offer that service.

Whenever I go in a barbers there always seems to be a cuthroat razor and\or one of those brushes lying around. If you go in a proper traditional barbers (as opposed to trendy unisex place) they will offer the shave.

Try it.

I pulled a bird of Friday night who offered such a service gratis....I pointed out I'd been attached to mine for many years and they were going nowhere...she seemed a bit disappointed.  Am I being too conservative?

I agree with bennett

I got fed up of being emasculated by your facial hair and had a shave :D Apparently I look thinner...definitely paler from blood loss as I hacked away at my face.

Surely it'll just grow back in a couple of days? A decent razor, some moisturiser and facial scrub would do just as good a job.

That sounded a bit gay didn't it. Fucks sake.

It's a marriage of convenience isn't it? Just a cover for both of your's rampant homosexuality.

Sippo I am guessing you want to try this for novelty or do it occasionally.

Cos if you're actually thinking "fuck shaving myself I'm getting a professional job at the barbers from now on" and paying for a shave several times a week then I would have to think you're some sort of pimp. http://www.dogsonacid.com/images/smilies/pimp.gif

at the swindon town end of season party before I pissed him off I was talking to christan roberts and he was telling me he has never shaved with a razor mac 5 jobby and gets a "proper" wet shave once a week at the barbers.

Fair enough getting a barber shave once a week if you don't mind stubble inbetween but what if you like to shave every day? You can't go to the barbers for your morning shave every day. For a start they're not open that early.

Most normal people have to shave themselves.

Doesn't a proper shave last longer? Sure I saw something on TV years ago and they said it would last a few days if done properly, it was in Turkey or somewhere like that. I think it might be called a Turkish Shave.

As mentioned before, the only place that looks like it would offer a decent proper shave with a blade is down on the corner of faringdon rd - Chesterfields.  I've often fancied having one myself, because I hate shaving and have now slipped into only shaving once every 5 days or so.  Never get it close enough without ripping the skin to shreds.  I may look into this myself now.

Failing that, whack some hair removal cream on your face and pop into A&E to deal with the resulting burn.

Doesn't on me, but then again i have a shadow after 10 mins, and can grow a beard in just over a week. So depends on your folicle makeup i guess.

I hate shaving.

I probably shave 2 to 3 times a week. I find I get a closer shave with 2 or 3 days stubble and also less shaving rash.

Use a facial scrub before shaving, it really does help.

This reminds me of Red Macca, he rented a place to a 'Kebab' man and kept banging on about how he would get free food, he was a fucking barnber on manny road the idiot!

I have to shave every morning and hate it, worse if I am out for a meal in the evening I have to shave again.  This means I must have 500 shaves a year jesus!
