Title: Proper shave Post by: Sippo on Friday, February 27, 2009, 13:38:53 IS there anywhere in the Swindon area that offers this service ie. Hot towels, proper wet shave jobby....?
Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: Spy on Friday, February 27, 2009, 13:47:33 I would imagine most male barbers offer a cuthroat shave although there might not be many with heated towels.
Never had it myself. Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: Sippo on Friday, February 27, 2009, 14:24:33 Do they though. I think most don't offer that service.
Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: Anteater on Friday, February 27, 2009, 14:44:01 Have you tried the St Tropez on Vic Hill ? I hear they may offer something like that !
Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: Sippo on Friday, February 27, 2009, 14:46:51 Boom boom.........
Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: Spy on Friday, February 27, 2009, 14:51:19 Do they though. I think most don't offer that service. Whenever I go in a barbers there always seems to be a cuthroat razor and\or one of those brushes lying around. If you go in a proper traditional barbers (as opposed to trendy unisex place) they will offer the shave. Try it. Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: Panda Paws on Friday, February 27, 2009, 15:17:08 The one on Faringdon road, next to the Bridal shop does I think
Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: Fred Elliot on Friday, February 27, 2009, 16:48:02 but why ?
Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: Reg Smeeton on Friday, February 27, 2009, 17:42:38 Have you tried the St Tropez on Vic Hill ? I hear they may offer something like that ! I pulled a bird of Friday night who offered such a service gratis....I pointed out I'd been attached to mine for many years and they were going nowhere...she seemed a bit disappointed. Am I being too conservative? Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: Bennett on Friday, February 27, 2009, 18:04:21 shaving is for idiots
Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Friday, February 27, 2009, 18:10:55 no-one likes beardy rash Mr Bennett
Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: Bennett on Friday, February 27, 2009, 18:18:08 pfff, i reiterate- shaving is for idiots
Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: DV on Friday, February 27, 2009, 19:26:12 I agree with bennett
Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: ibelieveinmrreeves on Friday, February 27, 2009, 19:29:10 I agree with bennett I got fed up of being emasculated by your facial hair and had a shave :D Apparently I look thinner...definitely paler from blood loss as I hacked away at my face. Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: Sippo on Friday, February 27, 2009, 21:50:21 Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: Simon Pieman on Saturday, February 28, 2009, 04:50:54 I think Fred is suggesting a Wilkinson Sword Platinum Titanium Mr X is just as good
Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: Sippo on Saturday, February 28, 2009, 12:13:51 I think Fred is suggesting a Wilkinson Sword Platinum Titanium Mr X is just as good But I hate shaving. Want a 'proper job'. Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: Sussex on Saturday, February 28, 2009, 12:55:17 Surely it'll just grow back in a couple of days? A decent razor, some moisturiser and facial scrub would do just as good a job.
That sounded a bit gay didn't it. Fucks sake. Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: axs on Saturday, February 28, 2009, 12:57:56 Surely it'll just grow back in a couple of days? A decent razor, some moisturiser and facial scrub would do just as good a job. That sounded a bit gay didn't it. Fucks sake. It's a marriage of convenience isn't it? Just a cover for both of your's rampant homosexuality. Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: Sussex on Saturday, February 28, 2009, 13:00:53 Outed. Have I got your number?
Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: Spy on Saturday, February 28, 2009, 13:01:06 Sippo I am guessing you want to try this for novelty or do it occasionally.
Cos if you're actually thinking "fuck shaving myself I'm getting a professional job at the barbers from now on" and paying for a shave several times a week then I would have to think you're some sort of pimp. No, Birdy has, I'm a lezza. Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: Sussex on Saturday, February 28, 2009, 13:05:42 I'm very open minded. Every hole..
Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: Gazza's Fat Mate on Saturday, February 28, 2009, 13:19:52 at the swindon town end of season party before I pissed him off I was talking to christan roberts and he was telling me he has never shaved with a razor mac 5 jobby and gets a "proper" wet shave once a week at the barbers.
Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: Spy on Saturday, February 28, 2009, 13:32:45 Fair enough getting a barber shave once a week if you don't mind stubble inbetween but what if you like to shave every day? You can't go to the barbers for your morning shave every day. For a start they're not open that early.
Most normal people have to shave themselves. Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: Sippo on Saturday, February 28, 2009, 20:06:39 The other 'alf wants me clean shaven for the wedding. Long way off yet, but i just wanted to know if there was anywhere in Swindon so I can check em out well in advance..

Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: Sippo on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, 20:11:55 Where's that?
Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: Samdy Gray on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, 20:15:13 Bath Road. Right on the roundabout at the top of Vic Hill.
Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: jonny72 on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, 20:38:10 Fair enough getting a barber shave once a week if you don't mind stubble inbetween but what if you like to shave every day? You can't go to the barbers for your morning shave every day. For a start they're not open that early. Doesn't a proper shave last longer? Sure I saw something on TV years ago and they said it would last a few days if done properly, it was in Turkey or somewhere like that. I think it might be called a Turkish Shave. Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: Sippo on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, 20:42:48 Bath Road. Right on the roundabout at the top of Vic Hill. Cool, I'll get my best man to enquire! I think there's a 'dodgy' place on manny road aswell. Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: RobertT on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, 21:17:57 As mentioned before, the only place that looks like it would offer a decent proper shave with a blade is down on the corner of faringdon rd - Chesterfields. I've often fancied having one myself, because I hate shaving and have now slipped into only shaving once every 5 days or so. Never get it close enough without ripping the skin to shreds. I may look into this myself now.
Failing that, whack some hair removal cream on your face and pop into A&E to deal with the resulting burn. Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: Bogus Dave on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, 21:22:57 Buy a decent razor and diy??

Doesn't on me, but then again i have a shadow after 10 mins, and can grow a beard in just over a week. So depends on your folicle makeup i guess. Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: Ralphy on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, 23:23:55 I hate shaving.
I probably shave 2 to 3 times a week. I find I get a closer shave with 2 or 3 days stubble and also less shaving rash. Use a facial scrub before shaving, it really does help. Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: Bushey Boy on Wednesday, July 29, 2009, 07:52:20 This reminds me of Red Macca, he rented a place to a 'Kebab' man and kept banging on about how he would get free food, he was a fucking barnber on manny road the idiot!
I have to shave every morning and hate it, worse if I am out for a meal in the evening I have to shave again. This means I must have 500 shaves a year jesus! Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: Sippo on Thursday, July 30, 2009, 12:52:11 For those who are interested going to Lewis Shaver Centre tmrw which is on Manchester road.
Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: Sippo on Friday, July 31, 2009, 15:43:08 Done and dusted. was really good, even though the bloke didn't speak english. def worth doing!
Title: Re: Proper shave Post by: Samdy Gray on Friday, July 31, 2009, 15:45:01 But aren't you getting married a week tomorrow? It'll have grown back by then.
