This ok for a cheap messing about taking pictures camera for my mum?

Someone told me it's a good deal. Looks alright to me. Nothing wrong with it?

Not much wrong with that, i had an earlier incarnation that lasted the distance. i.e. trips abroad and to the pub for 4 years.

Looks decent enough at that price.

I bought a Samsung camera for about 70 quid before Xmas. I broke the screen at New Year the first time I took it out.

Never had a problem with canon. Worth looking at online reviews.

Also saw this today(The Kodak EasyShare C913), but have no experience of the camera.

^^^^ Actually, the Kodak deal isn't that good a price^^^^^^^^^^^^

What have you got to lose?  Contact whoever you need to and explain that the soom is not working!
