God, that's a name from the past.  What prompted the enquiry?

It was the Frank Burrows thread.  When Burrows was out, Mick Blick used to play.   He was always a reliable replacement, and seemed to play in every reserve game.

Just checked his playing history, was a town player from 1966 as a professional after singing a youth contract in 1964, and joined Corby Town in 1971 after six league games plus two other appearances.

I remember chatting to him just before we played Roma in the Home leg of the game that the FA arranged for us because, despite winning the League Cup against Arsenal, we were not deemed of sufficient standing to represent this country in the Fairs Cup.  Blick was very nervous but still played very competently against a side that I believe included one Fabio Capello.  Wonder what ever happened to him?
For those of you too young to remember that night, Swindon beat Roma 4-0 with an Arthur Horsfield hat trick & a Don Rogers goal (I think) before a packed County Ground.
