Without question, one of the best ever.

As he said, he's done all he wanted to do. Brilliant record. Brilliant fighter.

I'm glad to see a boxer go before he lost it, a lot of others could take note of that.

I'm not sure how good he was in the all time list though, his division hasn't been the strongest in recent times.

You can only play the cards you're dealt though Nemo.

I really like Joe, it's just a shame that he never really consistently mixed it with the best. Take Lennox Lewis, for example, he never ducked anyone. Even Richard Hatton went prime v prime with Pretty Boy Floyd, and so deserves more respect in my book, even if headbutting the corner post and getting knocked out is a bit embarrasing.

He probably stayed with Warren far too long, but has, for me, chosen the right time to retire.

Eh? Kessler? Jones Jr? Hopkins? Lacy?

They're all very good in any era.

Without a doubt sauerkraut.

Don't be daft, Lacy was massively over-rated by an American public desperate for another knock-out hero, and Jones Jr was more shot than a flanders poppy.

He's knocked out some good fighters... Robin Reid was a tough guy and he got destroyed.

There's definitely better fighters who have lost, especially at 168 and 175 but his record speaks for itself.

A British great, no question.

Wasn't he the failed shoe bomber ?
