From the adver... TOWN will field two trialists in tonight’s reserve team game against Swansea City at the County Ground (7pm). Former Falkirk defender Jean-Francois Lescinel, and target man Hamdi Razak, who once trialled at Dover Athletic, will be aiming to impress. Title: Re: Trialist Players Names Revealed Post by: Batch on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 09:46:27 Also, Jean-Francois Lescinel seems to be an international (Haiti, 2 caps).
Stats show he is 22 but none too experienced: Years Club App (Gls)* 2002–2004 PSG B 2 (0) 2004–2006 Sedan B 2006 Falkirk 9(0)- loan spell 2006–2008 Guingamp 12 (0) Title: Re: Trialist Players Names Revealed Post by: Danjackson10 on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 09:55:16 they both sound poo, but might aswell give them a chance

Title: Re: Trialist Players Names Revealed Post by: Lumps on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 13:45:37 So we're relying on the fact that Dover Athletic failed to spot the footbaling brilliance of this fellah, who's actually going to turn our team around.
That'll bring the crowds flooding back I'm sure. Title: Re: Trialist Players Names Revealed Post by: Rich Pullen on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 13:46:35 In fairness Dover wanted him ;)

Ive got to side with OVERTHEHILL on this one...that list is alot of money up in smoke....better to pay abit extra at the onset and sign decent players who arnt much of a gamble....trialists are not the answer at lowerlge level...cant think of a succesfull tralist at Swindon apart from the youths. Title: Re: Trialist Players Names Revealed Post by: flammableBen on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 14:05:26 Didn't we have Parkin on trial before we agreed a fee with chelsea?
Title: Re: Trialist Players Names Revealed Post by: jayohaitchenn on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 14:11:21 Also the loan system could be construed as a trial period. In which case you can add Timlin and Cox to that list as well.
Title: Re: Trialist Players Names Revealed Post by: Simon Pieman on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 14:16:47 I'll reserve judgement until they sign and play.
Loads of people got excited by Mark Marshall, even begging Malps to get on with it and sign him. He can't even get into the first team. Loads of people got excited by Yinka Casal due to a couple of youtube clips. He's been disappointing. In short, we don't know if these blokes could be any good. I know it doesn't look promising but you never know how hard they've worked to improve their game. I remember Parkin once saying he had a rubbsih left foot, so he spent a summer working on it and then his left foot was probably stronger than his right. Or they could have been chain smoking and going out in their equivalent of Old Town until the early hours, pissing their future career away. I think what I'm trying to say is that there is no need to moan until things don't work out. Title: Re: Trialist Players Names Revealed Post by: Rich Pullen on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 14:26:06 Agreed with Si of Pie. They're trialists, there's no harm in taking a look at them. Besides, they probably won't even sign them anyway (like most trialists across the leagues)
Title: Re: Trialist Players Names Revealed Post by: adje on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 17:00:27 Thats slightly different though-at least someone in the past has seen something in loan players, triallists are a total shot in the dark

http://www.thisisswindontownfc.co.uk/news/headlines/4072264.Town_triallists_rewarded_with_deals/ Town triallists rewarded with deals 8:20am Saturday 24th January 2009 comment Comments (4) Have your say » Photograph of the Author By Anthony Marshall » TOWN will offer triallists Hamdi Razak and Jean-Francois Lescinel deals until the end of the season, after the pair impressed boss Danny Wilson in a reserve team match earlier this week. The duo played 90 minutes as Swindon’s second string beat their Swansea City counterparts 6-3 at the County Ground, with front man Razak grabbing a hat-trick in the process. Wilson revealed the players had been recommended by a much-trusted European scout, and is happy to keep them on board until at least the end of the campaign. “It would be until the end of the season on a short-term contract,” he said. “There’s still talks to be done and obviously the boys themselves have done well so on the back of that will be looking at what contract they can get. “They did themselves the power of good and did well. “It would be until the end of the season on a short-term contract. There’s still talks to be done and obviously the boys themselves have done well so on the back of that will be looking at what contract they can get. “They have come recommended from a contact we’ve got over there and he doesn’t normally give you rubbish - he gives you quality players or potentially good players.” Razak’s second-half treble on Tuesday night made the powerful Frenchman the main talking point among Town fans, but Wilson was equally impressed with Haiti international centre-back Lescinel. “For any striker who comes on trial and scores a hat-trick, you can’t be too disappointed,” admitted Wilson “Razak up front is very raw, he’s an amateur from France, and we thought we would take a little look at him. “It took him a little while to settle in to the game, but after he did he was a real handful. He needs polishing up - a hell of a lot - but he’s got the raw ingredients that you are looking for. “At the back, Lescinel, who is a left-sided defender, gives you that balance. “He’s quick, strong, not the first line header of the ball but he’s a very good sweeper of it and plays a typical continential French defending way - he goes in tight on people and is very physical with them. “We’re in talks with them. It will only be short term because one the basis of one game you can’t be giving players three, four or five-year contracts.” Title: Re: Trialist Players Names Revealed Post by: Spencer_White on Saturday, January 24, 2009, 12:52:20 I saw him a couple of times, and all he seemed to do was run around attempting sliding tackles that never connected, saying that i did miss the JPT wonder goal! I saw most of the games he played pre season. He was slow, bad first touch, ball used to get stuck under his feet. But he did try hard. Face it, you fans who liked him did so because he looked like he was prepared to cripple the opposition players. Title: Re: Trialist Players Names Revealed Post by: Simon Pieman on Saturday, January 24, 2009, 13:09:15 Plus he could get shots on target.
