I dont think its a coincidence that they've not let in a goal since Ferdinand has been out of the side.Rio-the most overrated player in the country

Given a choice between Chelsea's nouveau riche, Arsenal's foreigners and Liverpool's dull insipid style, then you'd have to pick the largely-English, swashbuckling, planet-shagging Red Devils every time, surely?

Yes you are then, but ill bite.

United display the arrogance and belief that what they are doing - I.E kicking a ball about actually makes them important.  Their arrogance has been bred over the years.  Horrible players playing for a horrible manager.  A team who harrangue and bully officials at any chance with a manager who thinks he is more important than the game itself.

If you weren't there go back to youtube to see the first time I truely hated them, when they came and drew at the county ground.  Hughes' outburst at a fan in the southside where I was standing, Keane thinking he was too good to be tackled by Niholt and most abysmally Cantona stamping on Moncur, nose in the air looking like he's thinking 'hat is this piece of shit on my boots' as Moncurs face contorts with agony.

Players that have been replaced by the over inflated egos of ferdinand et al.

Id rather any one else.

My opinion.  You're entitled to yours.

I hate them all for different reasons.

The arrogance of Man United and their fans is something I have grown to laugh at though. Just totally rediculous.

Have to agree. I enjoy watching United. I enjoy it that they upset so many other top flight teams.

I think they are all cunts up there, so you might as well have one set of cunts winning all the time, instead of spreading some joy out to 20 other sets of cunts.

The Torres song (Utd remix)

The scousers topped the league on new years day (hoorah)
The 19th title's on the way they say, they say
They drew at Stoke and they drew with Hull
They'll finish below the Arsenal
As United pick up
The Premiership once again

la la la la la la la la la la.....

I like Utd, hope they win the title, don't watch liverpool or chelsea usually, but will make an effort to watch Man Utd and Arsenal.  Don't think MUFC have hit top gear this season yet but they're still sitting pretty.

Chelsea's the interesting one at the minute anyway, seems all is not well at Stamford Bridge.  Will Roman decide to sell the club?  Will Scolari last the season/summer?  Which players will be sold?  I would love it if Chelsea return to their status as top flight also rans/strugglers.

I see that Al Fayad has got his bum out today about clubs like Man City who are trying to buy success, which is funny because I seem to remember that Fulham were in Division 4 until he started chucking money at it.

Despite this, I still think that he should get citizenship :)

My Big 4 order of hatred (from most to least) goes
Liverpool
Man United
Arsenal
Chelse

Liverpool - goes back to who you liked at school really. And though I don't care much about Man U, I still hate Liverpool. Strange.

Arsenal-Whingy moany overrated boss. Whingy moany overrated players. Pretty football. But it's not an etertainment business ahead of a results business.

Chelsea - don't really care they used £££ to buy success. Everyone does. Much harder to hate them now Bates is gone.

Man U - Liked them when I was young and uneducated in the ways offooty.

That's mine.

I also liked Man U when I was young, I think because everyone else liked Liverpool.

Can't stand them now, mainly because of that cunt Ronaldo.

I both love and hate Manchester United.  I enjoy the way they play, yet can't stand some of their players.  I think their away support is probably the best in the country, but they have the original armchair supporters.  I love the way they noise up almost every set of fans in the country, singing 'Argentina' and going on about the Republic of Mancunia, then they ruin it all by claiming they're whiter than white whenever anyone mentions a plane crash from 50 years ago.

Generally though, I'd go with what Spencer says.  My normal response to being asked who else I like, is that I hate 91 league clubs.

The things is, as much as we hate them, you have to give them credit for proving that having a mega-rich owner doesn't buy you instant success or stability.

The majority of their players are brought through on the youth system, with the occassional signing to bolster the system.  The beauty of this is that the Man U culture and playing style is a perpetual one.  Additionally, they have remained faithful to Fergi who, on a number of occassions at the start of a season, has had a disastorous start but by sticking with him everyone knows whats expected and he usually delivers.

I believe that this is the vision that AF has for Swindon.... It just may take a number of years for us to get there...

I actually admire them to a point of jealousy, which is probably why most people 'hate them'

I'm not sure about the "majority" of Uniteds team being from their yoof system.

In a year or 2's time when Neville, Giggs and Scholes have retired only Evans, Brown and Fletcher will be near their 1st team as things stand and none of them are important players.

And as for occasional signings (!) they've bought Ronaldo, Rooney, Anderson, Nani, Tevez (sort of), Carrick, Hargreaves, Vidic in the last 3 (ish) years by my reckoning.  At a cost of over £100m . All good players apart from Nani though.

Occasional signings, bahahhahha.

Van Nistlerooy £19m
Juan Sebastian Veron £28.1 Million
Rio Ferdinand £30m
Diego Forlan £7m
Cristiano Ronaldo £13m
Saha £11.5 million
Alan Smith £8m
Heinze £7m
Carrick £19m
Berbatov £30m
Hargreaves £20m
Nani £20m
Anderson £20m

and about £100m more for various undisclosed amounts and smaller fees

They've easily spent £300m over the last few seasons.

Title: Re: Man Utd

£300m, and they have won everything in sight. How much have Spurs spent to be joint bottom of the EPL?

Manchester United are a club to be admired :)

Title: Re: Man Utd

That is less than Spurs paid for any of Bent, Pavlyuchenko, Modric, Defoe and Bentley.

What a side Man United are!

Most of their squad are youth team graduates?

What fucking decade are you living in?

Who was the last academy graduate that makes the Utd first team regularly?

O'Shea and Fletcher make the bench fairly regularly but before that er........ Wes Brown I think, who is now 29 years old?

It's hardly a fucking production line of talent is it?

Wes Brown, John O'Shea, Darren Fletcher, Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Jonny Evans, Danny Wellbeck.

I suppose alot of those are getting on a bit now but I dont know if you sat down and compared it to any other team would they be any better.

For example Chelsea, after John Terry....

It is a lot harder to get into Man United's starting line up now than it has ever been.

But they still produce: You have got Frazier Campbell at Spurs, who plays semi-regularly, Welbeck has made an impact, and there is another lad on loan at Blackburn.

Fletcher is a key player for united now, speak to any fan that actually watches them on a regular basis and they will say he is absolutely vital to the way they play, hence why he starts the majority of games

I don't think Manchester United are as strong as they used to be. If any of the other teams up there were as good as they/people say then Manchester United should have never caught up so gosh darn easily.

At this moment I think I dislike Liverpool the most out of the current top 10 Prem clubs.

Dont think they will. Most Manchester United fans hate him with a passion think he's shit and only gets in the team because he's Scottish!!!

Wes Brown, John O'Shea, Darren Fletcher, Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Jonny Evans, Danny Wellbeck.

Yeah three are in their thirties, Wes is 29, O'Shea is 27.

The other 2 have a massive 7 appearances for the Man Utd first team.

I'm not saying their youth set up doesn't produce players, there's a whole load of them propping up the arse end of the prem, but to claim they build the MAJORITY of their squad out of their youth team is just bollocks.

The Man U 1st team squad is made up of 34 players, 18 of which have been purchased for a fee, and 16 of which are "homegrown" (although a couple of those have been poached at 16 from Wimbledon and Lazio).

Of those 16 players 3 made their 1st team debuts over 15 years ago, one, Wes Brown over 10 years ago, O'Shea and Fletcher 5 years ago or more.

Most of the rest are out on loan or farmed out to Royal Antwerp. They have about 15 first team appearences between them.

Face it the bulk of the first team squad at United, just like at any other prem club, with the exception of Boro has been bought in the transfer market.

Harking back to that bloody Scholes, Giggs, Beckham, Butt, Neville(s) team as if that was the rule at the club rather than the exception is just deluded.
