I agree. It's also impossible for me to get to sleep before 2am, even if I go to bed when I feel tired.

Luckily I've gone for some beer assistance tonight, from my last two cans of beer. Think I might even have a post-2008 mini detox after that  ???

I'd 3-way a recently deceased woman and a live chicken for a pack of fags and a bottle of port. I'm making do with some Stilton on muffin and a cup of hot chocolate.

Is it wrong to have sugar in your hot chocolate?

I was asleep by midnight, awoke at 10am.

Mainly due to imbibing too many lemsips and a bottle of Covonia.

And I haven't had a drink in 5 days.

With a baby in the house, I have learned to take sleep where I can get it.  Almost always in bed by 11pm these days and sleeping peacefully 5 minutes later.

It's also a complete myth that alcohol helps you sleep.  After a month long detox (and I'm a week in to No Beer Jan at the moment) I guarantee you'll be sleeping better than when you started.

Two night nurse capsules will knock you out completely for a good 9-10 hours.

I concur. Night nurse is legendary. The liquid is better though as it takes effect quicker.

Getting up the next morning is not easy though, I'm usually groggy for the next 24 hours.

But who would be dumb enough to test this theory?

I know, I know.
But you still went and did it. In the name of Allah and all that is holy, why?

I could sleep every minute of the day given half the chance...
