Title: Re: Cosmo Post by: Barry Scott on Saturday, January 3, 2009, 13:16:46 I went with pretty low expectations, having visited New World a few times, and it turned out to be some of the freshest and best Anglo-Chinese food i've eaten. I thought it was quite expensive though.
Title: Re: Cosmo Post by: DV on Saturday, January 3, 2009, 13:19:44 I've been there a few times during the day it can be a bit busy but the foods good and its cheaper during the day so even non fat bastards like myself can get their monies worth!
Title: Re: Cosmo Post by: LucienSanchez on Saturday, January 3, 2009, 13:20:29 Yeah it's pretty good... nuggets sausages and chips if the little'uns don't like Asian cuisine, and a glorious selection of e-numbers for pud
Title: Re: Cosmo Post by: STFC_Gazza on Saturday, January 3, 2009, 13:36:22 I fuckin hate cosmo,. Foods cold, queues are long etc. Rather eat British food
Title: Re: Cosmo Post by: axs on Saturday, January 3, 2009, 13:37:10 Like Spag Bol and Chicken Tikka?
Title: Re: Cosmo Post by: Batch on Saturday, January 3, 2009, 13:38:56 Cosmo is pretty good for an eat as much as you like buffet. When I went there weren't long queues* and the food was hot.
* the noodle/grill bloke took a little while as he's cooking fresh to order. Title: Re: Cosmo Post by: STFC_Gazza on Saturday, January 3, 2009, 13:39:20 Like Spag Bol and Chicken Tikka? Nope Chicken Madras and Lasagne! Title: Re: Cosmo Post by: Bushey Boy on Saturday, January 3, 2009, 13:42:39 Michelle its ace, £I paid £34 for four adults for lunch and a drink each - take him
Title: Re: Cosmo Post by: Miss Angry on Saturday, January 3, 2009, 16:38:42 Well we went, the food was really good, hot and we tried loads between us!
Id like to try it in the evening when they're cooking stuff infront of you and the chocolate fountin is on the go :D Brilliant for those with kids i would say as you didnt have to wait around for the food to arrive and can eat, leave at your own leasure... Eating out can be a chore with Gianlucas ADHD, but it made today a lovely day! Title: Re: Cosmo Post by: swindon_chick on Saturday, January 3, 2009, 16:41:38 I went with pretty low expectations, having visited New World a few times, and it turned out to be some of the freshest and best Anglo-Chinese food i've eaten. I thought it was quite expensive though. Snap! Although I thought it was quite good value. Never been at lunch time though and want to see what its like at that time of day. Title: Re: Cosmo Post by: janaage on Saturday, January 3, 2009, 16:42:54 I fuckin hate cosmo,. Foods cold, queues are long etc. Rather eat British food Sorry Gazza but that is complete bull. I've been to Cosmo in town on a number of occasions and I've never experienced cold food, or long queues there. The staff are always going round making sure the food is not sat there going cold, they replace the food that's been there a while. It's not the top end oriental food, but it's by far the best buffet all you can eat oriental I've been to. And that's from a very fussy eater. Title: Re: Cosmo Post by: Samdy Gray on Saturday, January 3, 2009, 16:43:28 Lunch time isn't too bad, they don't do all the cook-to-order stuff but you still get all the buffet stuff from the island thingies in the middle. Cheaper too.

I would have liked to enjoy it but its not my cup of tea. Title: Re: Cosmo Post by: janaage on Saturday, January 3, 2009, 16:54:09 Fair enough Gazzz, just seemed a little too one sided, as I really haven't heard many people slate the place like that. Fair enough each to their own but I think "fuckin hate" is a little extreme.

Fair enough each to their own but I think "fuckin hate" is a little extreme. I do hate it, most of my mates (or is that both of my mates ;) rave about the place. It's cheap and cheerful don't get me wrong. It just reminds me too much of a school canteen as well. Title: Re: Cosmo Post by: DV on Saturday, January 3, 2009, 17:25:35 What bloody school did you go to?
Title: Re: Cosmo Post by: swindon_chick on Saturday, January 3, 2009, 17:50:58 What bloody school did you go to? Certainly not Dorcan eh!! Title: Re: Cosmo Post by: yeo on Saturday, January 3, 2009, 18:06:58 i went the other day £6 all you can eat at weekday dinner times is ace.
Title: Re: Cosmo Post by: DV on Saturday, January 3, 2009, 18:17:48 Certainly not Dorcan eh!! Clearly, our canteen was nothing like Cosmos. If it was I might have eaten in there in 5 years I was at Dorcan!!! Title: Re: Cosmo Post by: Samdy Gray on Saturday, January 3, 2009, 18:18:12 Packed lunches FTW!
Title: Re: Cosmo Post by: DV on Saturday, January 3, 2009, 18:19:37 back in my day you were allowed out of Dorcan at lunch time. 5 minute walk home easy.
Title: Re: Cosmo Post by: Simon Pieman on Sunday, January 4, 2009, 10:23:32 That place over at Shaw Ridge made me ill. I vowed never to go there again, despite a pint of Guinness being only £2. I have thus far upheld my vow.

Nice to have another Dorcanite on the forum!! Title: Re: Cosmo Post by: Nemo on Sunday, January 4, 2009, 12:54:46 In my experience the food's decent although nothing special and in plentiful supply. If you want a nice Chinese go to Connie's in Old Town, if you just want lots of food, it's fine enough.

It's still a bit ace though, you get proper hot food there. Title: Re: Cosmo Post by: swindon_chick on Sunday, January 4, 2009, 13:24:55 back in my day you were allowed out of Dorcan at lunch time. 5 minute walk home easy. They aren't allowed out now. I think they stopped that in my last year there. With all the gates around it now it looks like a prison!Title: Re: Cosmo Post by: janaage on Sunday, January 4, 2009, 13:54:15 Food at Connie's is greased up supreme. It's still a bit ace though, you get proper hot food there. Connie's food is nice, shame the restaurant looks like an office though, not exactly the nicest setting for a meal, the decor is plain. Prefer the Jade Garden for the all round chinese experience. Title: Re: Cosmo Post by: DV on Sunday, January 4, 2009, 14:02:51 Nice to have another Dorcanite on the forum!! There are a few of us about on these forums! Title: Re: Cosmo Post by: Sippo on Sunday, January 4, 2009, 14:11:03 Sorry its all about the commonwealers.
