Title: Re: Swindon Pantomime Post by: ronnie21 on Tuesday, December 16, 2008, 17:11:40 Wife took the grandchildren - reckoned it was one of the best pantos she had seen (never been to the CG mind you), youngest only 4, he joined in and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Title: Re: Swindon Pantomime Post by: janaage on Tuesday, December 16, 2008, 17:23:49 A woman at work took her kids to see this at the weekend, and even though usually she's prett hard to please, she said it was excellent and Barry from Eastenders was brilliant! Well worth a viewing.
Title: Re: Swindon Pantomime Post by: oxford_fan on Tuesday, December 16, 2008, 18:33:24 do you have a theatre in swindon? very advanced if so.
Title: Re: Swindon Pantomime Post by: Mexicano Rojo on Tuesday, December 16, 2008, 18:34:48 yes we have a theatre and a football league side too.
Title: Re: Swindon Pantomime Post by: Simon Pieman on Tuesday, December 16, 2008, 19:52:56 I've only seen one there when I was a kid and it was Cinderella. Matthew Kelly played Buttons and wished me happy birthday from the stage.
Luckily I didn't have to meet him. Title: Re: Swindon Pantomime Post by: Luci on Tuesday, December 16, 2008, 20:04:17 Bought tickets for the 23rd, should be fun!
Title: Re: Swindon Pantomime Post by: stfc11 on Tuesday, December 16, 2008, 21:49:52 All the comments i've heard about it have been good, even people who didn't want to see it have said it was excellent and well worth seeing.
Title: Re: Swindon Pantomime Post by: reeves4england on Tuesday, December 16, 2008, 22:06:23 yes we have a theatre and a football league side too. That's comedy enough for any Man (or Woman) Title: Re: Swindon Pantomime Post by: Rich Pullen on Tuesday, December 16, 2008, 22:12:09 So that's 2 pantomine/Swindon Town jokes thus far... Any more?
Title: Re: Swindon Pantomime Post by: Simon Pieman on Tuesday, December 16, 2008, 22:37:23 What's this 3d genie thing anyway?
Title: Re: Swindon Pantomime Post by: janaage on Tuesday, December 16, 2008, 22:40:45 You have to wear the old school 3d glasses and the genie's 3d. The kids love it!
Title: Re: Swindon Pantomime Post by: chalkies_shorts on Tuesday, December 16, 2008, 23:07:40 I went last year and saw Britt Ekland. I was having images of the Wicker man, boy was I dissapointed.
I went to the Art Centre to see the Stage Struck pantomime and it was excellent. Not sure if its still one but great value for money and I love the Art Centre -obviously being a cultural bloke myself from Park South and all that. Title: Re: Swindon Pantomime Post by: Luci on Wednesday, December 24, 2008, 12:36:48 Well, went to this last night! Shaun Williamson who used to be in Eastenders was very good, some good jokes thrown in!
I was amazed at the number of Swindon Town jokes he chucked in too! "This is a Swindon Town bra - very little support and no cups" And many more cheeky sod! The 3d genie worked well too. All in all was incredibly cheesy as a pantomime should be but nice to do something different and a bit more Xmassy! Title: Re: Swindon Pantomime Post by: Rich Pullen on Wednesday, December 24, 2008, 13:18:06 I imagine Mr. Williamson and his fellow thespians is unaware of Swindon being the most successful team in the Wiltshire Premier Shield's history. What does he know :D
Title: Re: Swindon Pantomime Post by: Simon Pieman on Wednesday, December 24, 2008, 14:26:17 His name is Barry from Eastenders, he'd be offended by you calling him Shaun Williamson
Title: Re: Swindon Pantomime Post by: Rich Pullen on Wednesday, December 24, 2008, 14:28:28 Good, that's my intention.
Title: Re: Swindon Pantomime Post by: Simon Pieman on Wednesday, December 24, 2008, 14:41:13 I ignored your post originally, so it doesn't really apply to you.
Title: Re: Swindon Pantomime Post by: leefer on Wednesday, December 24, 2008, 16:38:08 I went last last year but wont be going this year....last year some weird Danny La Rue lookalike kept shouting that it was behind me....ended up at the hospital with a cricked neck and had to have popcorn and ice cream washed out of my eyes.
Title: Re: Swindon Pantomime Post by: pauld on Wednesday, December 24, 2008, 18:12:21 Took my eldest to the matinee yesterday, he loved it, especially the 3D stuff, but he was cracking up at Window Twankey too. And Barry was a lot better than I expected. Good panto.
Title: Re: Swindon Pantomime Post by: Simon Pieman on Wednesday, December 24, 2008, 18:13:47 Wow, if I knew there was a manatee I would have gone too.
