They didnt actually inject/give him pills.

Depends on the condition I suppose. If you've got something that limits your movement then you might require someone to sort things for you.

What a terrible situation to be in, a loved one wanting you to help them pass away.  I'm glad they haven't had to face charges as i think they've suffered enough.

Personally I've no problem with it. If my quality of life was so low and it affected all those around me, I'd be mightilly pissed off if my loved ones didn't help me.

I already have a DNR order in my will and have left detailed instructions in my will regarding under what circumstances my family are to refuse medical treatment and let me die.

The thing I don't get is that vets are allowed to put a animal down if it is fucked but if you are a human you have to endure pain and suffering untill you die.

The law should be changed to allow assisted sucide. Watching a loved one live for years in pain is not nice for anyone and I speak for personal experince as my mum had to suffer for years with MS untill thankfully she died but if took 10 years of living a live of pain before her body (not her mind) finally let her go.

It's called a living will. Which is kind of iroinc as it deals with how you die.

It is not legaly binding but docotrs must take it in to account and in the real world I understand that they follow it to avoid any legal action against them.

All it is is a statmenet that sets out what treament I want and in what circumstances I want treatment and in what circumstances I do not want treatment. For exmaple if I am paralayesed from the neck down and can't walk I do not want any treatment that will prolong my life ie don't put me on a ventorlator.

Due to the fact that I know alot of solcoitors mine is very detailed and has lots of legal stuff in it but it doesn't have to be. You can just write out your wishes and as long as you send a copy to your docotor it will go on your medical records and be taken in to account should you become illl.

I think I'll cross those bridges if I ever come to them.

Most life assurance only excludes suicide for the first 12 months. After that then it's easy money.
