And they should upscale them to 1080p, with varying degrees of success.

I just got a Sony BDPS350, and I highly recommend it, Amazon was cheapest I believe.

I heard the number of dodger dealers was escalating, so they've taken steps to sort it out.

They were selling CS Spray :D

I kid you not. Was on watchdog. They even bought some CS spray which is illegal to buy in the UK, and people have been sold various fake goods from the site.

marketplace isnt really amazon though, its open like ebay. so past their perhaps slack regulation its down to the individual sellers.

I've never bought from a private seller on there.

We bought something from a 'third party merchant' through Amazon. Turned up damaged. Company wanted us to pay 30 quid to ship it back. Told them to fuck off (politely) and issue is now with the Small Claims Court. Watchdog might get to hear about it if this action isn't successful.

I've bought stuff on marketplace and it's been fine. I check the feedback like I do on ebay to try and minimise the risk of getting shafted.

Don't amazon protect your payment as part of the agreement anyway? i.e. if it's faulty or doesn't turn up you can claim a refund?

Same here, never had a problem.

Yes, I believe they do.

Just to point out this was Amazon selling it not a marketplace dealer.

Never realised they Bluray players were getting so cheap. Not so long ago the PS3 was easily the best choice at about £299. Seems this standalone is only £155 with 3 free films too.

Lastly it can be made multiregion for normal DVDs (via all 4 1 remote) but is locked to region B for bluray.
