My office and training room are both being used from 9.30 today and I've got fuck all to do.

I can't have an early finish (Well I could, but I finished at 1.00 yesterday and don't want to take the piss)

Any suggestions on how I can use my time effectively?

(I've done all my Christmas shopping)

We've just been laughing at the crazy guy in our team. He plans on turning up at the xmas party wearing:

- Baby blue jeans
- A pink and blue bowler hat
- A white t-shirt with a pink flower on

And he wants to get a £1000 'pimp stick' and some £300 pink shoes. He really honestly thinks the ladies will love it.

I can't wait to see him get his head kicked in down the bottom of town.

I had an exam this morning. I don't think it went well. It was also at Ashton Gate. I've also spent loads of money in town.

Bollocks. Most students get a grant which they don't have to pay back. They can also get a student loan which they pay back. The loan can be deferred indefinitely, as long as they earn less than 2 grand +, gross, per month.

The comment I made was a standing joke between me and Ian, I haven't got a problem with tax dodgers, I used to be one.

A large amount of funding comes from corporate sponsored research, publications printing research, and tuition fees, the rest is made up by taxpayer funding.

I got no grant at all and started paying back my loan once I was earning 15K.

I deferred mine for about six years.

you can defer it for as long as you like (though they automatically deduct some on earnings of £15k plus as axs said), but whilst deferring you're still being charged interest and its compounding all of the time so the total amount grows and grows and grows. i'm shitting it about my loan and wish i'd considered it more seriously when frittering it away on crap and drugs. i also wish the student loan co weren't such a sly bunch of cunts, they make it out to be free money, no interest payments.....

its just another way of getting the population into debt. and with such a high % of a-level students going into FE, they've got millions of people.

I wouldn't worry so much. You won't deault on it (unless you're self employed and don't pay them) and it gets written off after 25 years anyway.

they used to have a rule where if you emigrate for something like 5 years they write it off too. my flatmates plan was to become a psychologist in australia, but they stopped writing them off.

Apparently most people pay theirs off before 15 years are up. My ex-housemate had hers paid off by her parents. At the time I said she was mad - interest rates on savings accounts were far higher.

Took me 5 years to pay off mine, but I only had one for 2 years at uni.
