Title: Pride
Post by: trogladite on Tuesday, November 18, 2008, 09:46:20
L P on Thisis was the first to spill the beans on MMs sacking and now he's saying Fittons prefered candidate is Ade Boothroyd, while the rest of the board fancy Jon Ward.  Ignore LP at your peril.
If he is right?  Nice to know the board are as split as the fans.

I'll wait til the interviews are done, before I start listening to others I think, the board will give the candidates a good grilling, the interviews could change everything.

What I want to know is, why so many fans appear to want Hollaway.  He's moronic and that comeing from me is a damning statement.

Because he's passionate. thats what we need. We need someone who will motivate the players.

He's certainly that alright.  Passion was certainly lacking in MM but I see Hollaway as a joke figure.  A great bloke ata party but listen to what he as to say? that's another matter.  Having said that, I will give the new manager 100% support as usual.

Poyet is the man I would go for

I'm not keen on Poyet, just because he was here for what two months of the season last time?  Wouldn't take much for him to be tempted to leave us in the do do again.  He's had his chance to be a Swindon hero and blew it.

Poyet would do nicely for me. It seemed that he was the brains behind tactics etc last time so I'd gladly give him a chance. I think the only person I'm not too inspired by is Ward, although I'll give anybody a chance before complaining

I think it's harsh to suggest that Poyet should be written off because of a brief spell as assistant manager.

The guy had just moved back to the country from Uruguay to assist his friend. Wise got the opportunity to leave and therefore it was more than understandable that he went too.

Since then Poyet has had to go it alone, did an admirable job at Tottenham as Ramos' number 2. Two years on, he probably feels he could go for a management job like all his old Chelsea chums.

Whether or not it would be sensible for us to appoint Poyet is another thing, it would be quite exciting though.

Managers in the lower leagues are often no different to players... They're looking for the best possible job for them and they'll leave as soon as something better turns up.

Poyet can have the job if he brings the clipbaords back.
