Title: Gutted !
Post by: Fred Elliot on Wednesday, November 5, 2008, 17:04:01
As some of you may know, my contract with Mercedes F1 came to an end on Friday last week and I moved across to manage the Twickenham account full time for the RFU.

Got into work today to find that the Stadium Director had left these on my desk, compliments of the RFU.

I have got Jenna this weekend, who in no uncertain terms stated that she would not be attending with me and what sort of Father would I be if I went and left her with a baby sitter all day then came rolling home drunk.

They are now in my boss's grubby mits

Booo

the reason Twickenham has become like Wembley, corporate freebies = less atmosphere

some times the tickets find themselves in the hands of a fan, but more often than not they don't or get passed around

WRONG

60,000 capacity for Saturdays game (rising to 82,000 for the remaining 3 matches of the series)

1,000 complimentary tickets issued

That to me makes it a far fucking cry from Wembley

normally its a much higher proportion of corporate tickets though? my mates dad gets them through his building firm and they are big rugby fans; they say the atmosphere is dwindling and corporate tickets on the up. i don't know if its different for this series.

i went to twickenham with them for a wales 6 nation match a couple of years ago and it was pretty ghostly

Rugby is shit.

I used to go to a fair few matches from the 70's through to mid 80's, Twikkers more in the 70's Arms Park more in the 80's.

Enjoyable, but the atmosphere completely different to football, namely quiet and polite, despite the presence of loads of pissed up blokes, who seemed incapable of pissing anywhere other than on the terrace...especially at teh Arms Park.
