Is your remote broken?

I liked Phoenix Nights... that is all. I can't stand anything else he's done (Max & Paddy was meh and the same tour but released on several different DVDs) - didn't see the thing tonight though.

Watching Steven Fry's American thing on BBC One. Much more interesting.

Never really got Peter Kay. Seen a few Max and Paddys and Phoenix Nights, but never really caught on to the hype.

I think there's a lot of comedy snobbery around. If I think something's funny, I'll watch it.

Post by: JOHNNY REEVES on Sunday, October 12, 2008, 20:45:23
before tonite i thought he was pretty funny but then again he told jokes this piss take program on channel 4 has no humour whatsoever, also bad acting and the adverts are far too short.

Title: Re: peter kay
Post by: flammableBen on Sunday, October 12, 2008, 22:31:00
I quite enjoyed the first Little Britain USA. Well the Astronaut dude anyway. For some reason when he said moon in a funny voice I cracked up laughing. The second one was pretty poor.

The American edits are different from the British ones. More swearing and nudity. Nothing that makes any difference though.

Little Britain USA isn't great, although the a sketch in the episode the other night, with the nude body builders, was fucking hilarious.

That and the astronaut saying moon in a funny voice. Made me crack up for some reason. I'm turning strange.

I thought the Peter Kay thing last night was pretty good, but then again I'm a big Peter Kay fan. The humour wasn't blatent, it was quite subtle but that's the Peter Kay way of doing it.

Post by: janaage on Monday, October 13, 2008, 07:52:05
Peter Kay was good enough last night, even the "2up 2 down" did a job, and that lad singing ebony and ivory with a black ventriloquists dummy in "other talent week".

Little Britain USA is gash, awful, scene, scene, scene, then to finish it off just say the rudest thing possible, then queue that fucking annoying voice over man. I only watched it cos a mate of mine said it was brilliant.

I hate to say it again but Harry and Paul was very good in places, bad in others, but Fridays episode was very good (until the last 5 mins).  The Dragons Den parody has been brilliant.

Title: Re: peter kay

Harry and Paul are very funny. I particularly like the OAP rap DJ's

Title: Re: peter kay
Post by: janaage on Monday, October 13, 2008, 08:13:48
They were good last episode too, "here's Tim Dogg, with fuck Compton",

Football manager - very funny
the builders in the country - not so good
The black and white author fella - like it
South african gym goer - funny
posh coffe shop - pretty good
dragons den - brilliant
nelson mandela - very good
american tourists - good
posh shop - good in places
northern pet bloke - good in places

Some classic moments in britains got the pop factor last night.......

2 up 2 down, where the 2 birds where left in wheelchairs after a jet skiiing accident at niagra falls siging "dont go chasing waterfalls"

Freeee- eee nelson madella ,  ella ella ,  eh eh

Title: Re: peter kay

'She's got the finest voice I've heard in 25 years. The best since Sonia.'

I thought the scene where R Waynes gran (R gran) died was hysterical. You could actually see that happening on X Factor.

Bet DRS wanted to see more of the midget boy band, Men 2 Boys. Funny when Michael Jackson asked them how old they were.

In 30 minutes of "comedy" that was the only scene to make me smile, the rest was awful.

I thought some of it was ace.  I think you really need to pay attention  to detail with Peter Kay things, it's the little bits you wouldn't find funny unless you's listened earlier sort of thing.  I loved pete watermans comments about 2 up 2 down being the best harmony he'd heard since brother beyond and R Wayne was the best since Glen Mediros :) Bet sippo creamed his pants ;)
