Erm, not much more to add. I know some of you watch it/download. It's just over a week behind the US (22/09)

It think I got up to episode 10ish (about half way through) of series 1 before I got bored. It's on my list of things to catch up on again, but it's gone down the list since nobody had much good to say about series 2.

I've not even seen an episode.

I saw the first one... each to their own but I didn't like it.

There's plenty of American television I really enjoy but I agree with Yeovil, I find it annoying that they allow shows to become stale/shite all in the name of $$

Talking of l shows that go stale, what were they thinking when "they" made Lynch/Frost reveal who killed Laura palmer in Twin Peaks? Fools.

OK, so the thread title gices a spoiler warning so tough shit if it is spoiled for you.

Regarding Episode 3. I got distracted trying to remove XP SP3 from my PC following remote desktop issues.

Did the Haitian capture Ando and Hero?

Did Sylar kill present day Peter Patrelli (trapped in other dudes body), or did he manage to 'escape' the body?

Thanks.

Really JFW.

I think it has descended into a mess of a show with no clear plot lines or direction, too much 'padding' and to few new ideas. I also want to punch Mohinder repeatedly.

Title: Re: Heroes Season 3 - BBC 3 Pace, With SPOILERS.
Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Thursday, December 4, 2008, 14:11:39
ummmm I thought last nights was really eerry (sp!) although I too wish to punch Mohinder - maybe its just cause I understand it better now?

Has anyone else noticed how lopsided Peter Petrellis mouth is? is beginning to annoy me - Its all about Sylar now - I too am like Ell as I get electric shocks off everything - like my car and the filing cabinet!!

Title: Re: Heroes Season 3 - BBC 3 Pace, With SPOILERS.
Post by: Simon Pieman on Thursday, December 4, 2008, 14:25:23
I think Series 2 was the one that ruined it a bit. Wasn't really any point to it at all, except to fill between series 1 and 3.

I quite like how series 3 is developing. I know it's not massive in terms of plot, but we're starting to understand some of the characters through the story, rather than having snippets of back story. I think this way the series is constantly moving, although I guess tiem would tell if it has a direction.

I think the only thing that annoys me is how they use Hiro to tell the story, by making up some lame excuses why he has to go backwards and forwards in time. Oh and Parkman is an utter arse.

On BBC2 it's during the eclipse. Beeb 3 is the one where they eclipse passes.

Batch you loved it the other day? why the change of heart?

I still enjoy watching it, though it's off the 'must see as soon a possible' list.

In my opinion:

It's moving the plot too slowly and in a way which seems to indicate the writers don't know what what happens next.

Some of it is getting a bit repetitive. HRG tries to get the 'baddies' . Save the world lots of times, Sylar loses his powers. Gets them back. Peter loses his powers.

They have made Hiro into an ass. He was good light relief, now he is boring.

They seem to be nicking the plot line off The 4400 and elsewhere. No originality.

To me they seem to be leaving to many loose ends. What happened to the Oirish bint that went to the furture that never was. Can I even remember which possible future reality they are trying to prevent. More to the point do I care.

I think it is suffering from Lostitis (tm) - in danger of dissapearing up it's own ass. Lost recovered because they now have a definite timeframe to resolve things in, I think Heroes needs to recover somehow too.

Title: Re: Heroes Season 3 - BBC 3 Pace, With SPOILERS.
Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Thursday, December 4, 2008, 15:55:48
hmmm I can see you point - there is too many boring characters they could do with getting rid of -isnt there like 22 episodes in this series? and we are only on 10??

Title: Re: Heroes Season 3 - BBC 3 Pace, With SPOILERS.
Post by: Simon Pieman on Thursday, December 4, 2008, 16:11:16
I think if they tried to tie up all the loose ends it would be pretty boring. I mean, do you really care what happened to that Irish girl? I think things get left like that because of the way Heroes is meant to be.

The whole point of the show is people using their powers for good and for bad, which is the classic comic book scenario and homage to comic books is always present. Precog paintings, The 9th Wonder comic book, even the writing when it introduces who they are and where they are in certain scenes looks like that in a comic book. It's never going to be more than a save the world/destroy the world scenario I think.

I suppose that's going to annoy people (and often it annoys me). Obviously the way it's written is a ploy to keep it going, but I think the way it's written is the bit which makes it original.

Edit: There was a double negative in there somewhere.

That's soooo last week JFW.

The answer to the Elle question is shown at the start of the next episode.

No sign of Nathan or wankhinder dying, but it wasn't a too bad episode on BBC 3 last night. Though I did think 'oh no, here we go again' when the Hiro plot developed.

I got a bit Jealous watching Sylar and El podge! has he killed her then?

Good twist to the Beeb 3 one this week. I think it's going to make Claire even more annoying though.

Also, it's taken me this long to realise that Ando probably didn't kill Hiro in the future, he was powering him up or whtever it is that he does.

Take a look at the Laptops around your office tomorrow and I'm sure you will find an Acer.

Also, rent or buy Airplane!  Classic!

I thought it was a crap ending and just an excuse to prolong the story.

Dissapointed with it.

I mean OK Patrelli bought it,  but oh look, Sylar effectively has no powers AGAIN. Until he remembers anyway.

And oh look, Hero can't use time travel. AGAIN.

Still enjoy it, but it seems to be recyling storylines.

it was so obvious the Sylar would start remembering how he really is again but heck! Im loving it!

Peters mouth just gets more and more lopsided every week!

I think Charlotte is the only person who liked it.

How many more series are they going to do? It's really lost its way now, too many back stories when we already know the characters, the show can't decide whether it wants a Sylar take all situation or company/government vs the 'heroes' situation. Also, too many characters who have interesting abilities are sidelines to the story more often than not. For instance, Parkman has a quality ability but is just about the wettest and most disinteresting character there is.

The mystery is all gone and I fear my interest in the show is waning.
