Title: Monza
Post by: michael on Sunday, September 14, 2008, 11:18:31
Lewis starting 15th. He is easily the best driver in the wet, coupled with the best performing "wet" car, but I would be surprised if he makes it through the first 5 laps without tagging someone.

Should be an exciting race anyhow with lots of overtaking.

The start will be interesting, lots of cars out of normal positions and looking like a wet one too. Expecting a few to go out first lap.

With 20 cars racing flat-out down to the first chicane there will almost certainly see someone cut across it.

Wonder how that will pan out...

depends on the make of car.

There is chat now about the race starting behind the safety car. Could be quite dangerous actually because they'll lose temperature in their tyres and brakes?

If I was Lewis I would take Massa out at the first opportunity - Schumaker use to do it without a penalty every season.

Starting behind a safety car, how gay!!!

so the first corner on the second lap will be interesting.

bloody wet weather - hate safety car starts.  I hope Vettel does well - nice to see someone else up there however still want Hamilton to do well and ideally finish above Massa. The appeal for Hamiltons penalty hearing is on Sept 22nd so could change the leaderboard by then

Why did Hamilton start 15th? Was he just generally shit in qualifying or was that a 10 place on the grid penalty thing?

I believe it poured down and McClaren got the tyres wrong and he didn't have enough time to change, went out in the first qualifying.

Totally fucked their strategy up with the rain, however the Ferraris didn't do any better so must have been pretty tricky conditions to judge.

Certainly not, but he has shown true potential during his (albeit brief) time with BMW and laterly a below average car with Toro Rosso. A lot of the drivers rate him highly (aparently) - so do I
