Title: Man City!
Post by: BANGKOK RED on Monday, September 1, 2008, 09:22:54
Looks as though they have been taken over then.

Quote
Premier League football club Manchester City has been taken over by the Abu Dhabi United Group for Development and Investment (ABUG), Arabian Business can reveal.

The deal was struck late on Sunday night between the club’s former owner Dr Thaksin Shinawatra, former Prime Minister of Thailand, and ADUG.

i think the Yiddo's will be pushing hard for Berbatov to head to Man City, seems to me they see selling him to manure as a last resort... i think it'll be brilliant if he does go there!!!

Title: Re: Man City!

It'd preferrable if they sold Berbatov abroad... Man City are one of the teams Spurs need to finish above to get European football, so letting him go there seems a bit silly

Title: Re: Man City!

is Spurs to Man City really that much of a step up?

So much for ambition.

1 player does not make a team though, although if he is scoring the goals then it certainly helps - if Spurs can get rid of the sulker and replace him with equal quality then they should be laughing and city fan's will be laughing if they beat Man U to him...

It could be though Dv, ok he might have to sacrifice a year but i am sure hughes will be telling him how much they got to spend for next season.

Title: Re: Man City!
Post by: DiV on Monday, September 1, 2008, 15:11:53
Try but money doesnt always equal success.

Spurs are hardly low on cash and they spend a fair amount every season.

Either way Man City arent in the Champions League and probably wont be for a few years...

I think its clear he wants to go to Manchester United but now Manchester City have bid I think Spurs wont accept a Manchester United bid.

We will hear that Man City have 'beat' Man Utd to the signing if it goes through, when in truth I cannot imaging that Ferguson would be foolish enough to spend £30 million on a player like him.

I bet it was just a game being played by Spurs & Man City, make it look like you mean business by bidding for high profile players in an attempt to improve ticket sells (Man City) by meanwhile the advantage to Spurs is that is puts the preasure on Man Utd to react to the 'serious offer' as they want the player and do no want to look like they are beaten to him by their rivals.

the Newcastle Rooney bid was a joke, Rooney told O'Hanlon they year before he signed for Utd that he had already agreed to join Man Utd. But they wanted him the season after they got him, Newcastles bid just forced it through a season early

Not of that quality if they aren't in the champions league.

think Real Madrid should get Ronaldo over and agree personal terms with boy, give him his medical without asking Man Yoo's permission, see how they like it! Tottenham haven't even agreed to let Berbatov speak Man Yoo, whereas Man City who have done everything by the book and had an offer accepted by Tottenham, still have n't been able to talk to the player with just over 2 hours of the window left,

some facts: its mental

The estimated wealth of the Al Nahyan family is an almost unimaginable $1 trillion (a thousand billion dollars) or more than £560bn.,

With the oil price surging recently, his family's wealth has been increasing massively by the day. Every time the price of a barrel of oil rises by $1, it is estimated Abu Dhabi gains as much as $500m (£280m) a day.  (insane)

and i love this quote

"Ronaldo has said he wants to play for the biggest club in the world, so we will see in January if he is serious," said Dr Sulaiman.
