Title: Re: The Sad Crocodile. Post by: Reg Smeeton on Sunday, August 17, 2008, 23:06:22 Think you should pin this up by the gharial in Bath Road museum..although not strictly a crocodile...it always looks a bit sad to me, and the poor old gharial is more or less extinct apart from small numbers in India..
Title: Re: The Sad Crocodile. Post by: Arriba on Sunday, August 17, 2008, 23:09:02 has anyone tried crocodile steak?
i dont fancy it much myself Title: Re: The Sad Crocodile. Post by: flammableBen on Sunday, August 17, 2008, 23:10:21 I used to love going to see that when I was a kid. I actually popped in late last year to check it was still there. I wasn't disappointed, although it doesn't look as mighty as it did when I was under 4ft tall.
I remember that they used to have stuff about "The Great Tram Disaster" in the room if you turn right when you first go in. That wasn't there anymore, I guess it hadn't been for a long time. By Great and Disaster I think it just fell over. Title: Re: The Sad Crocodile. Post by: Reg Smeeton on Sunday, August 17, 2008, 23:19:40 The gharial still looks pretty impressive to me, but of course is piscivorous so would give us a wide berth.
4 people died in the Great Tram Disaster....apparently they were on the way to the Bath and West Show...which I seem to recall once being held on the Polo Ground. Title: Re: The Sad Crocodile. Post by: flammableBen on Sunday, August 17, 2008, 23:22:33 They should rebuild a tram system. Would be ace. err.. Fact.

Title: Re: The Sad Crocodile. Post by: flammableBen on Monday, August 18, 2008, 06:57:42 I quite often get up early in this new modern world. Think it's something to do with the coming apocalypse.

Worse than that crocodiles jawa aren't built to chew, but only to bite. They have to do that rolling thing in the water to break off a handy sized gobbet of meat and swallow it whole. Title: Re: The Sad Crocodile. Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Monday, August 18, 2008, 09:51:57 WOW I like this thread
Its reminds me of when I was in a Peter Pan Panto and we had to sing never smile at a crocodile! Title: Re: The Sad Crocodile. Post by: Reg Smeeton on Monday, August 18, 2008, 10:18:37 I quite often get up early in this new modern world. Think it's something to do with the coming apocalypse. I read a perfectly serious article recently that calculated we have a little over 8 years to radically alter lifestyles and economic systems, before the present climate change goes into irreversible disaster mode. Feel a bit sorry for you younger lot....I'll have had a decent innings. Title: Re: The Sad Crocodile. Post by: Batch on Monday, August 18, 2008, 11:29:05 I wonder what creature will survive whatever kills us all, evolve, and replace man at the top of the food chain?
Will they be wondering what killed us all off, much like we do about the dinosaurs. Will they be using our fossils for fuel. Will they have a Tony Robinson type presenting their time team and digging up out old cities and towns. Or maybe the earth will just go pop. |
