Title: Re: Hockenheim Grand Prix Post by: Batch on Saturday, July 19, 2008, 18:34:21 Just watch quali. Nice one Lewis!!
Title: Re: Hockenheim Grand Prix Post by: Luci on Sunday, July 20, 2008, 11:44:55 Total randomness on the grid today!
Title: Re: Hockenheim Grand Prix Post by: flammableBen on Sunday, July 20, 2008, 11:52:45 Claiming that the grid is random is what is setting back so many African nations.
Title: Re: Hockenheim Grand Prix Post by: michael on Sunday, July 20, 2008, 13:29:01 This race started off boring but is well weapon now
Title: Re: Hockenheim Grand Prix Post by: Luci on Sunday, July 20, 2008, 13:32:04 Hamiltons done brilliantly considering Maclarens error during the safety car. Has driven so well today, deserves to win.
Title: Re: Hockenheim Grand Prix Post by: Simon Pieman on Sunday, July 20, 2008, 13:34:24 Did McLaren make an error or was it just a bit of bad luck at the time?
Title: Re: Hockenheim Grand Prix Post by: Luci on Sunday, July 20, 2008, 13:36:43 Did McLaren make an error or was it just a bit of bad luck at the time? They made an error in thinking Hamilton had enough of a gap to not pit during the safety car when in face he didn't have quite a big enough gap. Title: Re: Hockenheim Grand Prix Post by: Simon Pieman on Sunday, July 20, 2008, 13:39:08 Would have been worse to go in early and last the race on soft tyres. Obviously the correct decision because he actually won.
Title: Re: Hockenheim Grand Prix Post by: Luci on Sunday, July 20, 2008, 13:40:45 Obviously.
Title: Re: Hockenheim Grand Prix Post by: Simon Pieman on Sunday, July 20, 2008, 13:42:05 Haha, I wasn't even trying to wind you up. Sorry about that.
Title: Re: Hockenheim Grand Prix Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Sunday, July 20, 2008, 14:43:55 Great drive from Hamilton. Grand Prix is actually starting to get good again after 10 boring years.
Title: Re: Hockenheim Grand Prix Post by: Bogus Dave on Sunday, July 20, 2008, 18:12:52 Because a british drivers winning?
Title: Re: Hockenheim Grand Prix Post by: Barry Scott on Sunday, July 20, 2008, 18:56:55 Because a british drivers winning? No, because an English driver is. :D I've watched F1 for what seems like ever, but when Schumacher retired, i found it hard to get behind any drivers. I dislike Ron Dennis alot, but i'm coming around. I, unlike most, can jump on the Hamilton bandwagon when i want, my years watching the support grant me that divine right, but it still feels fashionable. I like Button more if i'm honest, and since Villeneuve passed Button some personality, he's one of the few proper personalities on the grid. Although Kimi could be, because he's a fucking nutjob, but his voice and manner doesn't make me want to enjoy a beer with him. Title: Re: Hockenheim Grand Prix Post by: axs on Sunday, July 20, 2008, 21:02:53 of course Hamilton is still very over-rated blah blah blah.
great drive and another good win. Title: Re: Hockenheim Grand Prix Post by: Batch on Monday, July 21, 2008, 06:56:39 :) Hard but fair overtaking by Hamilton, the McLaren team got away with the mistake.
Nelson Piquet Jr must be a happy relieved man following his first several races. soapy tit wank@Alonso getting shafted by the Torro Rosso twice. What are the odds of him stealing a Ferrari drive though? Two good GP in a row now, even if the conditions creating them were outside the normal (rain, safety car) Title: Re: Hockenheim Grand Prix Post by: Fred Elliot on Monday, July 21, 2008, 09:33:43 Brilliant
That car is a fucking amazing piece of machinery ! Title: Re: Hockenheim Grand Prix Post by: Phil_S on Monday, July 21, 2008, 09:38:21 I've followed Formula One from my armchair since the Mansell days, but foynf it very boring with the schumacher ferrari processions of the 10 years before Hamilton came on the scene. At last a British Driver who is good enough to challenge.
Title: Re: Hockenheim Grand Prix Post by: Bogus Dave on Monday, July 21, 2008, 10:00:32 the season before hamilton started was one of the best in recent history ???
Title: Re: Hockenheim Grand Prix Post by: Samdy Gray on Monday, July 21, 2008, 10:04:34 Last night's MotoGP pisses all over F1.
Title: Re: Hockenheim Grand Prix Post by: michael on Monday, July 21, 2008, 16:28:31 soapy tit wank@Alonso getting shafted by the Torro Rosso twice. What are the odds of him stealing a Ferrari drive though? I don't know. If he didn't like equal billing at Maclaren then why would he like it at Ferrari? Title: Re: Hockenheim Grand Prix Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Monday, July 21, 2008, 16:55:38 Because a british drivers winning? No because that German cunt has gone! Title: Re: Hockenheim Grand Prix Post by: Batch on Monday, July 21, 2008, 18:08:04 I don't know. If he didn't like equal billing at Maclaren then why would he like it at Ferrari? I didn't really think of him being an equal #1. More Kimmi quitting and Massa or A.N.Other taking over #2. Personally I think Alonso is overrated. But I could see it happening. Title: Re: Hockenheim Grand Prix Post by: Samdy Gray on Monday, July 21, 2008, 18:29:34 Watch this clip and then tell me MotoGP isn't more exciting and action packed than F1 (and the Italian commentary just makes it even better).

Title: Re: Hockenheim Grand Prix Post by: Batch on Monday, July 21, 2008, 19:40:03 Meh, there's a couple of wheels missing on those cars.
Title: Re: Hockenheim Grand Prix Post by: axs on Monday, July 21, 2008, 19:41:17 I just can;t get interested in it.
Title: Re: Hockenheim Grand Prix Post by: Samdy Gray on Monday, July 21, 2008, 19:51:10 For me F1 is too much about team work, tactics, stupid fuel/tyre rules and too much computer aided gizadry.
MotoGP is more about skill. It's just a bloke on a tuned up bike, no computer aided gizadry (granted some have traction control, but that's a lot different from changing fuel mappings and gear ratios in-race), no silly tyre & fuel rules and it's every man for himself - racing in it's purest a best form. Title: Re: Hockenheim Grand Prix Post by: Batch on Monday, July 21, 2008, 21:20:05 No doubt those Moto GP boys have balls of steel, impressive skills and better races. Lots of motorsports have 'better' racing than F1. But they aren't F1.
F1 is about the best drivers in the best cars with the best technology. Or it was. Until engine freezes and standard electronics and so forth. But it would have imploded without those measures. Not sure why, but I can't get into Moto GP either. Title: Re: Hockenheim Grand Prix Post by: Leggett on Tuesday, July 22, 2008, 10:15:10 best drivers? or do you mean the drivers that can buy seats in the lower teams?
