Post by: BANGKOK RED on Saturday, July 5, 2008, 14:49:54
My mic ain't working on my comp. I think that it is a driver problem, but can't seem to find an appropriate driver.

Anybody?

I am using XP by the way.

Cheers big ears.

Just a quick question.....it isnt disabled is it?

If its not disabled then the driver may be the problem, what sound card/onboard sound card do you have in it?

Thats how it goes big nose.

If its the one that came with the machine, make and model and any serial or tag number would be a place to start, or it might tell you in hardware devices if it's not an onboard card.

Open up control panel.....system.....hardware....device manager....

Sound, video and game controllers....right click them all and then click on update drivers.....if the driver is corrupted that can replace them.

Or open each one on properties and remove the device, then reboot the pc and let windows find its own new drivers from Tinternet.

But iif you can find your make/model number of your motherboard and then go directly to the suppliers website and download the correct one, this is the best way of doing it.

Dead easy if its a Dell/HP/Compaq or a well known make, if its a cobbled together/homemade system then the best way is to open the side of the case and find the motherboard model number (such as p5n-le, or av8-vm) and go to google and type the model number and sound driver (e.g. av8-vm sound driver) in the search and download it direct from them.

Fixed the cunt. (Just now)

Dug around inside, found which muvver board I have and went googling. I downloaded soundmax and it took this long due to part laziness and part not being able to read fucking Thai. My next mission is to get soundmax in English.

Cheers.
