Title: Silly Swede Post by: BANGKOK RED on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, 09:22:32 Quote A last drink proved one too many for a 78-year-old Swede who fell asleep while trying to row home - from Denmark. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7482551.stm Now there's a man who should be commended on his silly drunken antics-ness. Title: Silly Swede Post by: chalkies_shorts on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, 09:28:32 Fair play to the guy. To get that hammerred and get half way across at the age of 78 - what a bloke. I think I've got a new role model.
Title: Silly Swede Post by: Reg Smeeton on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, 09:49:30 I used to row to a pub on Hayling Island....it was proper ace. As far as I knew, there were no laws about drinking and rowing. Two problems were avoiding the yachts, which can go surprisingly quickly and getting the tides right.
The downside of being a bit pissed and trying to beach a boat, came home to me when I fell over in a mire of estuarine mud, and ended up covered head to foot in stinking ooze. :( Title: Silly Swede Post by: SwindonTartanArmy on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, 10:43:11 was up in fort William the other week. Staying in a hotel right by the Curran Ferry. Unforetunately the ferry finished at 9:30 so couldnt go to the decent pub on the other side of the loch. Had to make do with the crappy pub on our side of the loch. Would have given anything for a rowing boat that night! :beers:
