Been away on my usual 2 day lorry go round in Devon and was talking to a few Plymouth fans and they were telling me of there shock about the keepers fatal motorway smash,and how disgusted they were by it,aparently he was a big favourite down there.....and it got me thinking what a fine line life is,i might be wrong but had Jimmy Davis been drinking,if so only by the grace of god he didnt kill someone apart from tragicly himself,i loved the bloke...funny how everyone i,e Terry Venables rallies to help Gazza,a drunkard who beat his wife,yet if a bloke living in his street had done the same probably would treat him with the contempt he deserves.On a completly different matter the Pasties wished us well and a few are having a fair wager on us going up at tasty odds.

Drink driving is stupid, but you don't deserve to die for it, even if you end up killing others.

There's no question Gazza needs help though, I'd look at it from the other way a bit. It's not a shame that gazza is getting the help, it's a shame that the bloke living in the street doesn't. Or something. I think. err..

gazza is a different issue altogether imo as his is due to mental illness and not a one off mistake.

Iv'e done some stupid things in the past, including driving whilst smashed. Thankfully I saw the wrong in what I was doing and stopped before anybody got hurt.

In a way it is a tad harsh that the young Plymouth lad has basically lost life/career due to a silly mistake, although of course the authorities would be absolutely right in sentencing him.

But yeah Leefer, it is a fine line. When I was picked up by the old bill for driving whilst barely able to walk, it turned out that I was so drunk that I hit a parked car and didn't even know... That was a "Wake up and smell the coffee moment".

If I wasn't in such a corrupt country then I could have done some bird for that (I contributed about 1k to the local bobbies coffers), and I could have seriously hurt somebody or even killed them.

Making a stupid mistake doesn't make me a bad person, but the authorities are well within their rights to prosecute.

Nowadays, Asides from a pint or 2 at the max, I DO NOT drink and drive. And any more than 2 I will get a taxi home and pick the car up the next day.

I got lucky and learned a lesson IN TIME, Jimmy Davis and the Plymouth lad didn't.

When will McCormick be convicted?

Probably if and when he is found guilty! :wink:
