Title: If You Think You've Had a Bad Week... Post by: walrus on Sunday, May 1, 2005, 10:09:50 I worked Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and was looking forward to a fantastic end of the week with just college to worry about. Went to highlight my hair on Thursday, and the dye took too well to my hair and turned it bright gingery/yellow resulting in much piss-taking.
Friday was a trip to Brighton for a mate's birthday which I'd been desperately looking forward. Started on the black aftershocks, and like an amateur outdid my limit. Woke up in A+E having not even made it to the nightclub, my face a mess and a drip in my arm. Apparently I'd fallen over in the road, before being slapped in cuffs and roughly shoved into an ambulance. My parents were not impressed, and got bugger all sleep all night. Also let down a couple of mates who were going to get a taxi with me but now couldn't afford it, so had to wait till 4am for their train home. Saturday entailed a trip to a mate's house for his 18th. 4 in the afternoon, perhaps still feeling the affects of the alcohol in my blood, I bumped a Volvo estate in the back (he stopped when heading onto a clear roundabout abruptly, taking me by surprise as I was looking onto the roundabout to check it was clear). Get out the car and no damage to mine other than a small crack in the numberplate, but he seems to think his boot won't close properly so am worried about how much I'll have to pay (have a 400 quid excess on my insurance due to my age, and the premiums will scream up if I make a claim). Can anyone top this at all? I have a picture of me on Saturday morning which I'll bung up here when my sister gets it off her digi cam. Title: If You Think You've Had a Bad Week... If he wants to persue it try and pay out any costs yourself, else you'll get absolutely clobbered when you renew your insurance.
Must be something about this bloody weekend. Totalled my car late last night so a couple of favours had to be called in at short notice to get the car back home asap. Luckily a mate works for a breakdown company though. The fuzz would have been none to happy with me! Title: If You Think You've Had a Bad Week... My face is swollen beyond belief, and it's covered in nicks, cuts, and just generally ouch.... Unfortunately I don't have a before and after pic, so you will just have to take my word for it that my face isn't usually that swollen!! The good thing is that even after seeing that pic you won't recognise me, with my hair having since been dyed back and my lip shrinking... Hope I've given you all a good laugh! Title: If You Think You've Had a Bad Week... Post by: oxford_fan on Sunday, May 1, 2005, 18:01:35 fucking hell, your upper lip is quite a state.

Some of my mates had already gone to the club not realising what was happening, and the ones with me weren't allowed in the ambulance as they were drunk. Am hoping my face returns to normal asap as I feel like a mong, though it is a lot better than it was! Title: If You Think You've Had a Bad Week... Post by: walrus on Tuesday, May 3, 2005, 16:49:57 Okay, time for you spazzers to make my weekend better.
The guy I hit on Saturday seems to be up for claiming for things which weren't damaged in the accident - he spoke to my mum on the phone and mentioned the central locking which seems dubious when I merely tapped his bumper at around 5mph (had literally just pulled away). What can I do to avoid him doing this? My friend has suggested getting an independent RAC/AA examination on his car, as they can apparently tell roughly what damage was caused in the accident. In reality, I doubt I have caused any damage to his car, but am willing to pay up to 150-200 quid to get it over with, but any more and I'm thinking of contesting it. The fact there is no damage to my Vauxhall Corsa yet he seems to think there's plenty of damage to his solid Volvo seems a little bemusing. Title: If You Think You've Had a Bad Week... Post by: Simon Pieman on Tuesday, May 3, 2005, 16:52:43 If you are really telling the thruth then i say contest it. whilst it was your fault, you shouldnt pay stuff you didnt damage. the problem with contesting it is that you want to settle outside of the insurers it seems....

I have a four hundred pounds excess on my insurance, so in theory I shouldn't need to involve the insurance. It really was the minorest (is that a word?) of taps! Every time the phone rings I'm ducking for cover.... Title: If You Think You've Had a Bad Week... Post by: Amir on Tuesday, May 3, 2005, 21:09:37 If he's being a proper cunt say he stalled at the roundabout, therefore in the eyes of the law it's his fault. He could take you too a small claims court but it's very unlikely and he'd have trouble proving you are lying.
