What can I mix it with?
I'm trying it with lemondade at the moment.
Any more suggestions?

The drain or coke.  Failing that on the ice with a dash of water.

It's mixed with Blackcurrant sometimes, isn't it?  It tends to work well with citric flavours so lemon is the obvious choice.

Personally, I'd leave the Pernod alone and have a Dry Martini (still the most expensive drink I've ever purchased by the glass) if we're being a bit tarty.

Once only, Stupid Pub, Drinking/cards all day opening, wasn't the worst combination, that was Guiness and creme de Menthe which incidentally curdled, not recommended

Pernod is vile.

   Its alright as an aperitif, which is its primary purpose.....wouldn't much fancy it for a session though

In my 'younger days' we used to drink it by the pints. Not good. Easy to drink but makes you do crazy things.  :mrgreen:

this takes me back a bit.a group of mates used to start off the night by going halfs on a bottle of pernod back in the day.we used to drink it with cherryade.

You can't beat a nice refreshing glass of rocket. Vodka Redbull and Stella. Fuck knows why we thought that would be a good idea. We drank a lot of it one day though and never drank it again.

Oh and there was a party in walkabout once, and both snakebites and vodka redbulls were £1. Didn't take long to invent snakebulls. Although I sort of wish I'd called it RedBites.

The French tend to fo with just ice and water but sometimes use grenadine syrop (mixed berries) also which they call a tomate due to it looking like tomato juice.  Rather horribly some use a little dash of almond syrop which they then call a moresque.

this thread has reminded me how much i used to love ye olde turbo-shandy mondays. a quid for a pint and a quid for a smirnoff ice, ask for an extra pint glass... combine the two, hey presto, two turbo shandys for £2. oh the joy of going out on the piss with £10
