Title: 1st Test
Post by: Scot Munroe on Wednesday, May 14, 2008, 18:22:08
Is upon is. Starts tomorrow and apparently it is supposed to start raining. Should be a good summer of cricket with NZ and South Africa touring. Probably side for tomorrow in my opinion

Cook
Strauss
Vaughan
KP
Collingwood
Bell
Ambrose
Broad
Sidebottom
Hoggard
Panesar.

Typical. The test is at Lords, its going to rain for the first 2 days, and I have an exam on the inevitable fifth day when I would otherwise have gone along. Life just isn't fair!

Not happy to hear McCullum has been moved up to 5 in the batting order for En Zed. Should be a whole lot more effective there than at 7 :(

Sounds like a 20/20 match 41-2, they are flashing the bat, nearly had a run out, had a player caught off a no-ball, good stuff.

McCullum's a class act - some of those shots were sensational.

They were good, but how much luck did he get? Was close to being caught a lot!

He's quite an entertainer but personally I don't think you can call a guy who averages 30 (and considerably less in ODI cricket) with 1, maybe 2 hundreds to his name, a class act. Shoddy with the gloves too.

Not being a cricket purist, i like watching it to be entertained... for this reason i like McCullum

Absolutely. Give me 2 hours of McCullum over Cook or Bell any day.

Bell in full flow is worth watching, he just takes a while to get there.

I wish they'd just get floodlights and stop messing around with bad light.

TEE HEE

1045: A little pitch chat for you - I'm told it feels cold and damp to the touch, much like your granny's hand. Some movement expected still for the bowlers; graft and toil for the batsmen.

Just looked at tickets for egdbaston, they still have still for sale, but they start at £55.  Thats double what I paid for in Leeds!

Some of the tickets for the Ashes next summer are up to 100 quid. I know they don't sell out county games so need the money but blimey.
