Title: There are rumblings!! Post by: BANGKOK RED on Tuesday, May 6, 2008, 19:38:25 Of another Coup de' etat here in the land of smiles.
Political unrest, press censorship, troop movements and most notably the military giving the vote of confidence: "There will be no Coup". Oh, and threads on this subject have been erased from local forums today. I wonder what odds you could get at the bookies on yet another coup (Gambling is illegal out here) And what the fuck does Coup De' Etat translate to anyway? Sounds French to me. Title: There are rumblings!! Post by: flammableBen on Tuesday, May 6, 2008, 19:42:34 It means "Instant Fish Soup"
Title: There are rumblings!! Post by: lebowski on Tuesday, May 6, 2008, 19:42:58 I can see this kind of thing happening in The London under Blue Boris.
Excellent. With the triumverate of him, Prince Harry, and Prince Phillip, we are in for some exciting times here in Blighty over the next few years. Title: There are rumblings!! Although often they use fish sauce, as in essence of fish. ESSENCE of FISH, I choose to keep clear myself. Title: There are rumblings!! Post by: flammableBen on Tuesday, May 6, 2008, 19:48:08 I've got some in my fridge.

Title: There are rumblings!! Post by: Bogus Dave on Tuesday, May 6, 2008, 19:51:28 Wouldn't a military coup be abit scary?
Title: There are rumblings!! Post by: flammableBen on Tuesday, May 6, 2008, 19:54:38 I'd imagine your pretty safe as long as you're not a member of the ruling class types.

Basically it means to take the state. The literal translation is to "blow" the state, I suppose implying some kind of force Title: Re: There are rumblings!! As opposed to "coup de grace" which means to mow the lawn Title: There are rumblings!! Actually I'm making a Cottage Pie. Just boiling up some potatoes now. Fish Sauce as well as Soy Sauce and other stuff like that are a good source of Unami-ness. Title: There are rumblings!! When the last one happened (Last year), I knew nothing about it until my Nan called me from England to ask if I was OK. I knew nowt about about until then. That was all very "Peaceful" though as the vast majority of Bangkokians, Bangkokietes, whatever welcomed it and not a shot was fired (At least not in public). If things get a bit hairy then I have it planned out already: 1) Stock up on beer, food and sundries. 2) Don't go out 3) Play FM 2008. Title: There are rumblings!!
