That legislation really is a joke. Saw a documentary on More4 last night called Taking Liberties, worth a watch (http://www.noliberties.com/), which detailed how the new Acts introduced by Blair have basically abolished everybody's basic democratic rights. There's no more freedom of speech, no more right to protest, no more innocent until proven guilty, no more right to privacy - the new laws introduced by Labour have done away with them all and turned us into a police state. The protesting bit is over the top i agree Title: man arrested in swindon under terrorism act Post by: pauld on Wednesday, May 7, 2008, 11:32:31 Quote from: "Don Rogers Shop" Well yes in some circumstances yes but they have bought in this law to stop radicals screaming shit in the street. No that was the excuse they used. Always the way, if you've got a real steaming turd piece of legislation to go through (extradition/internment without trial, restriction of right to trial by jury, denial of basic democratic rights) you slap it in under a general "anti-terrorist" banner and hope no-one notices it's got sod all to do with terrorism because too many people will wear any kind of repressive shit if they think it's only aimed at "the bad guys" Title: man arrested in swindon under terrorism act Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Wednesday, May 7, 2008, 12:26:34 Either way terrorists are cunts
