Title: Chuckie Egg. Post by: flammableBen on Friday, April 25, 2008, 15:32:53 Can't beat a bit of Friday Afternoon Chuckie Egg Action. No other game has quite matched the level of adrenaline you can get pulling off perfectly timed jumps.
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d35/flammableben/chuckie-1.gif Just taking a break. Haven't died yet. Here's me showing off the nice simple way to get that pesky egg on level 5/13/21 etc. without bothering with waiting for the lifts. This can get important on the later instances of the level with more grey dodo things and the giant duck to avoid. The blue arrow is a tidy bouncing alternative if you find yourself stuck in the top corner. Oh and you can get a nice tidy and pretty accurate remake of the greatest game ever made from here.. http://vroomfondel.net/chuckie/. Fuck know if it works in Vista though. Title: Chuckie Egg. Post by: BANGKOK RED on Friday, April 25, 2008, 15:44:07 Just the title of this thread bought back oh so many memories.
I remember having to hit the space (Jump) bar at the exact right moment at the edge of the platform to get the egg without being killed. Title: Chuckie Egg. Post by: flammableBen on Friday, April 25, 2008, 15:47:01 http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d35/flammableben/chuckie3.gif
Things start getting a bit harder here. In fact, shortly after taking that screen shot I died. It was Si Pie's fault, he signed into msn and the harsh task of showing the msn signed in message at the bottom corner of my screen caused the frame rate to drop a bit which made me lose my rhythm. Oh well plenty of lives left. Title: Chuckie Egg. Post by: BANGKOK RED on Friday, April 25, 2008, 15:56:54 I actually remember that level. I think that jumping from one of the tall ladders in the middle to the other next to it was key to cracking it.
I can't believe that I remember this but in the bottom left corner the egg is on a slightly raised platform. It is raised for a reason....... When the blue chicken on the left reaches the bottom of the ladder you have to jump over him and then climb the ladder. The purple triangle bits? Bird feed? they give you back some health don't they? Title: Chuckie Egg. Post by: flammableBen on Friday, April 25, 2008, 15:59:45 Nah they stop the bonus counter going down for a few seconds so that you can get more points when you finish a level. They also give you a couple of points straight away. You don't really have health.
You get an extra life every 10000 points. So it's important to collect lives for the later stupid levels. Title: Chuckie Egg. Post by: flammableBen on Friday, April 25, 2008, 16:03:30 I think that SiPie is starting to sign in and out just to annoy me now. Oh well, back to the action.
Title: Chuckie Egg. Post by: flammableBen on Friday, April 25, 2008, 16:10:03 I title this one, "Please go left you cunt"

The blue cunt on the right ain't much of a problem, as with most of the eggs on the right. I distinctly remember having to jump from one of the ladders in the middle at the right time. It's a case of watching what that chicken does and timing your jump right. The bit on the left: DEFINATELY, you have to jump over the chickens head onto the lower ladder, it ain't easy and you have to time your jump perfectly. Despite it being 20 years or so I almost remember it as though I played that level yesterday. Title: Chuckie Egg. If so please post a pic of the next level, I am liking this nostalgia. Title: Chuckie Egg. I'm miles ahead. There are 8 different level layouts in chuckie egg. They cycle through in the same order but you get more things as you repeat them. So Levels 1-8 Are with just the grey coloured dodo creatures, 9-16 is just the yellow floating duck thing, 17-24 is both the yellow creature and the grey dodo things, 25-32 is with the yellow duck, the grey dodos and extra grey dodo's making it get a bit mental. Here's level 25. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d35/flammableben/csilly.gif I'm actually up to level 28 now. Title: Chuckie Egg. It's flooding back to me now, same level but more enemies. Once I get my ADSL connection back I might have a go myself (Downloads and stuff). More likely I wont bother though. Did you find out the winner from japanesebugfigts? Title: Chuckie Egg. Post by: flammableBen on Friday, April 25, 2008, 16:44:35 Nah not yet. I promise I will one day. I couldn't see another fight with the awesome hornet dude which disappointed me.
I'm definitely starting to haemorrhage lives pretty quick now. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d35/flammableben/chuckie30.gif The extra blue/grey dodo thing on the right hand side makes those eggs at the top right a cunt to get. The next one is even worse. Title: Chuckie Egg. Post by: BANGKOK RED on Friday, April 25, 2008, 16:55:22 My guess is that taking the yellow elevator platform to the top will just synchronise (Sp) with you jumping inti the blue muvver at the top.
Although maybe a skilfull leap to the bottom of the ladder where the top blue muvver is may work. Maybe you can just hang on at the bottom of that ladder whilst bluey passes overhead. Title: Chuckie Egg. Post by: flammableBen on Friday, April 25, 2008, 16:59:28 I managed it by getting lucky sneaking in underneath.
I'm not sure I'm going to get through level 31 before I run out of lives http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d35/flammableben/chuckargh.gif You may note that my lives (the little triangles under my score) are no longer at maximum. This is not a good thing. It only ever shows 9 even if you've got more, so on some of the other pictures I probably had up to 20 or so. Title: Chuckie Egg. The purplish arrow is the chicken moving to the left, allowing you to sneak in and get the eggs. Title: Chuckie Egg. I managed to do level 31 quite easily, must have hit the zone. Level 32 is sort of the last level as it just cycles through 25-32 again and again, although I think you get a bit less time per level. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d35/flammableben/ch32.gif I'm exhausted. Probably a case of working out the patterns of the blue chickens. Title: Chuckie Egg. Post by: flammableBen on Friday, April 25, 2008, 17:16:44 Yeah sort of, the thing is that you can never stay still and wait because of the yellow duck following you. This makes it tricky as fuck timing a run to the top.
Especially the one's on the left and right hand side a few levels up. You can only get passed them when they're on the bottom platform on the longer ends going from the bottom of the ladders of their little areas. Title: Chuckie Egg. Probably a good thing. I've got to go skewer up some chicken. I want someone else to play so my chuckie egg genius can be realised. The copy in the link in my first post is only 400kb so should take well under 10mins even if you're on dialup BR. Seconds for anybody else of course. Title: Chuckie Egg. Post by: blinkpip on Friday, April 25, 2008, 18:47:05 I think I got this game on a spectrum cassette tape.
We should have a old school game competition league. 8) Title: Chuckie Egg. Post by: tans on Friday, April 25, 2008, 18:48:12 does anybody remember the game jet set willy? that was ace 8)

I must have spent a gzillion hours on trying to jump from le platform to get that egg but to no avail. Of course it is impossible and some 20 years ago I discovered by accident that upon collecting the final egg then you have finished the level, and therefore cannot die. Again you are a cunt, even a proper cunt but I mean that in an affectionate way cos' this thread takes me way back. Title: Chuckie Egg. Infact my earliest memory is playing chuckie egg. Madness. Title: Chuckie Egg. Post by: flammableBen on Saturday, April 26, 2008, 22:05:04 Quote from: "BANGKOK RED" That one doesn't look to difficult technically. Probably a case of working out the patterns of the blue chickens. I've been playing again today and got to the bastard level 32, I feel as if I should highlight the cunting difficulty. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d35/flammableben/chl32tutorial.gif As you can see I've had a tidy start and managed to sneak passed the middle chicken dude and up to the second platform. Now the problem I have here is that unless the one on the left continues past the ladder and goes towards blue circle 1. I'm fucked getting up that ladder and back across following the green arrow. There's the outside possibility that I could follow him up, stay where the yellow circle is whilst he wanders across and back over circle 2, however by that time the big yellow dude will have caught up with me. He always accelerates towards you, so that if you go back across him he takes a while to change direction, the yellow arrow is a rough estimation of his current trajectory. This hiding plan also requires blue chicken fucker to go straight back down the ladder, which is leaving it to luck a bit. If I do manage to get up there along the green arrow, then I've still got to hope that the top middle cunt is at one of his ends at the top. Otherwise I'll just have to get that near egg. You can see that as most of the eggs are in gaps, I have to fall through every time I get one, this means that I have to repeat the whole process at least 4 times, and that's if I get perfect set ups with the top middle chicken thing. And that is why Level 32 of Chuckie egg is a complete jewcunt to complete. Title: Chuckie Egg. Post by: flammableBen on Saturday, April 26, 2008, 22:07:31 Cunting cunt cunt went up the ladder.
