Title: Gillingham game
Post by: Ardiles on Saturday, April 19, 2008, 20:14:17
I think I'm right in thinking that, with Oldham vs Cheltenham kicking off at 3pm next Saturday, we will not be able to mathematically relegate the Jills when we play them...even if we win.  Their relegation would only be confirmed if Cheltenham better the Jills' result a few hours later.

I also wouldn't mind betting that this was part of JFC's/Kent Police's decision in moving the kick off to 12.30pm.

Wouldn't put it past them, but if we beat them next Saturday, they would home that Cheltenham loses their last two games, while they would have to win big at Leeds, and they struggled to get a point at home against Leeds, when Leeds had only 9 men !!!

I don't care. As long as one of Cheltenham or Gills go down i'm not bothered. Knowing my luck none will and we'll relegate Millwall on the last day instead  :D

I suspect they will if they need a result for survival. It's going to be interesting if we relegate them! Don't be fooled, Millwall are still nasty bastards.

Hmmm...also Oxford are playing Ebbsfleet away on Saturday...literally a few miles away from the Gills. Could be exciting!

Ha ha - funny you should say that. I went to the Gillingham away game last time we played...and in the adver on monday, there was a picture of me and my mate in the stand watching the game with the headline underneath saying "Swindon Fans Caused Trouble"...I kept it as an ironic momento of a forgetable day...running down alleyways scared of getting beaten up, watching a terrible game where we lost 3-0 and a bastard of a car journey home.

My mate is a Millwall season ticket holder.  He mailed me today saying free pints for Swindon fans in the pubs round London Bridge Tube Station if we get a win or even a draw on Saturday - that would secure them staying up :)

Assume your comment is tongue in cheek, given this afternoon's Adver article about sending out the kids?  If I was a fan of Cheltenham or Millwall I'd be more than a little cheesed off.

Yes, Millwall are always very matey and are extremely trustworthy.

Lets go to Surrey Quays for the accomodating locals.
