Title: Donor Card Post by: flammableBen on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, 00:17:37 Something I've always believed I should have but never got around to sorting.
Out of boredom I just did it online. Happy days. He would have been 40 today  Title: Donor Card Post by: ronnie21 on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, 07:10:16 Quote from: "STFCBird" Good for you Ben, when my cousin was killed 20 years ago, he was a donor and he saved 5 peoples lives and helped a blind person to see again. Title: Donor Card Post by: SwindonTartanArmy on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, 10:18:34 I signed up to be a donor as soon as my mum went on dialysis. Nothing will be worth using as its all fucked, but its the thought that counts!
Title: Donor Card Post by: Barry Scott on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, 11:15:29 I'm a donor. I think people should be by default. Sadly I think there's probably too many Karl Pilkingtons in this world.
Title: Donor Card Post by: Dazzza on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, 11:18:34 Well that was pleasantly easy to do and I’ve been meaning to do that for months.
Top linkage Bender. Title: Donor Card Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, 11:24:02 I want to do it but it wont accept my postcode for some reason!! :x

I'm sure it was on the Driving Licence form. Title: Donor Card Post by: janaage on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, 14:21:27 What happens if you go on the donor list, they use your eyes, you get to heaven and you're blind as David Blunkett? You'd be well pissed off.
But then again if in the process of me dying I broke my glasses, or lost a contact lense I'd be in the same situation. Also thinking about it, doesn heaven have a limitless supply of contact lenses and cleaner? Cos they only last a month so if they don't my eternal life of happiness could be a blurry one. I'm gonna sign up for it!! on another note i can't ever remember a serious post from FB before?!! good work old bean Title: Donor Card Post by: flammableBen on Thursday, June 5, 2008, 11:17:23 Just shy of 2 months for the card to arrive. I suppose the card means fuck all, and they just check on the big database if they know who you are when you're dead.
I'm a bit disappointed, it's a flimsy bit of shit. I wanted something proper sturdy. Something I could use to slice through flesh to get to the delicious treat of organs inside. You know, in an emergency. Title: Donor Card Post by: axs on Thursday, June 5, 2008, 16:08:20 I got mine int he post today too. letter with it is dated 28th May, guess they forgot to post them.
Title: Donor Card Post by: Samdy Gray on Thursday, June 5, 2008, 16:52:54 I got mine today as well.
Title: Donor Card Post by: Dazzza on Thursday, June 5, 2008, 16:57:37 Mine arrived this week as well. What happens if you're abroad and something happens to you would the donor card still come into play or is it a UK based jurisdiction scheme?
Seems a bit of a waste if something happened on holiday and they could use your bits to save a life but because you’re abroad it’s a no go. Title: Donor Card Post by: STFC Village on Thursday, June 5, 2008, 17:29:56 I'm sure i heard they were changing the donor scheme from "opt-in" to "opt-out"? Regardless, i'm signed up.
Need to get donating blood as well, soemthing i've been meaning to do for ages and keep forgetting Title: Donor Card Post by: flammableBen on Thursday, June 5, 2008, 17:34:32 I used to give blood a fair bit, but haven't since I moved back to Swindon. County Ground is a bit of a walk and I'm lazy. I think they used to do it at the Moose Hall or whatever it's called at the top of Eastcott hill. Haven't seen it for a while though.
