Don't see the problem myself as it is clearly not aimed at anyone in particular. No worse than taking the piss out of Swansea for being Welsh or the northerners for being, erm, northern or telling the referee he's a wanker. It's either all acceptable or none of it is. Smashing up the town is quite clearly out of order though. Title: i was embarrassed Post by: STFCBird on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, 12:47:38 I too was disgusted by our so called 'fans' on Saturday. I will not call them burberry's or hooligans, I will just call them Stupid Cunts, because that is what they are.
I was stood in the queue for a coffee at half time and stood next to the burger bar were a group of men, most of them old enough to be my dad or even my grandad, blatantly arranging to meet and fight Brighton fans in front of families queueing for their burgers. Most of them were shouting and swearing calling people cunts, the poor bloke in front of me had a 5 year old who was very scared by all this and the bloke was trying very hard to try and move away from them covering his childs ears to protect him from the shouting and swearing. I too felt intimidated and insecure as I was on my own at the time. The group of Stupid Cunts then received a phone call. One of them shouted it's kicking off in town let's go. They whistled to their oap mates that were in the queue for a piss and started roaring and shouting and ran out of the ground towards town. This disgusts me, these people should know fucking better, I know who they are, they sit in the townend. Lovely. Thus, by distancing themself from gay people, they are reaffirming their role as a heterosexual in a heteronormative culture, thereby attempting to prevent themself from being labelled and treated as a gay person. This interpretation alludes to the idea that a person may posit violent opposition to "the Other" as a means of establishing their own identity as part of the majority and thus gaining social validation. This concept is also recurrent in interpretations of racism and xenophobia. Nancy J. Chodorow states that homophobia can be viewed as a method of protection of male masculinity.[31] Various psychoanalytic theories explain homophobia as a threat to an individual's own same-sex impulses, whether those impulses are imminent or merely hypothetical. This threat causes repression, denial or reaction formation. Title: Re: i was embarrassed Post by: flash on Friday, March 28, 2008, 00:50:43 Quote from: "Fred Elliot" Quote from: "flash" Tolerance is one thing a town full of benders is quite another. That is quite honestly bollocks flash Would you say that sitting down and knocking one out over some granny porn (as obviously you do) is a perversion ? You need a reality check darling xx First a definition: Sexual perversion in psychology, sexual behavior deemed pathological by its deviation from "normal" sexual desire. The definition of sexual perversion has shifted considerably over time: indeed, it has never been an uncontested category of meaning. For example, homosexual desire has long been stigmatized as sexual perversion among many segments of Western society (and remains so among some), but within the field of psychology, it is no longer considered pathological. Use of the term perversion itself has come under wide criticism in recent years. Today, psychologists generally refer to nontraditional sexual behavior as sexual deviation or, in cases where the specific object of arousal is unusual, as paraphilia. There are a number of recognized disorders of this type. In fetishism, the object of sexual desire is either an inanimate object or a nongenital part of the human anatomy. Voyeurism involves the covert viewing of other individuals who are naked, undressing, or engaged in sexual activity, as the primary means of sexual arousal. Sexual arousal as a result of physical contact with prepubescent children is described as pedophilia. Other forms of sexual deviation include exhibitionism, incest, transvestism, necrophilia, sadism, and masochism. Many of these behaviors, when they involve the participation of nonconsenting adults (or children, consenting or not), are punishable by law. Although rape is not classified as a paraphilia, it is a serious sexual deviance, and perhaps the most highly reviled form of sexual gratification. Most forms of sexual deviance are accompanied by any number of other psychological disorders. So by this definition, yes watching granny porn is a sexual perversion though perhaps, as suggested in the definition, sexual deviation is a more acceptable term. I did say that indulging in a sexual deviancy such as sodomy was no big deal although your reaction suggests to me that you may have some sort of guilty secret, am I right? The word itself, made up using the terms homo=same and phobia=fear, makes no sense. It seems it serves as a label to be used perjoritively to put down someone or something that is disagreed with without having to present a cogent arguement.
