Post by: Bogus Dave on Monday, March 17, 2008, 14:24:22
Just been awarded £24.3 million. £24.3 MILLION!!! For doing what? Marrying an ex popstar, and crying on gmtv. grrrrrrrrrrr why the fuck does she get so much, for doing so little. And she's appealing the sodding decision, fucking cow. How can you not be happy with £24 million. Its not as if she was rolling in it before. Greedy bitch

only £34 thousand a year to clothe and take her daughter on holiday - what an outrage!

errr how about living in the real world for a bit love and only having about £34 a week to spend on her!!

In face - heres an idea - if you want some more money - GO OUT AND EARN IT!

she needs to accept what shes got and crawl back under whatever rock she came from!

with that much money she could put it all in a bank, live off the interest alone, and still have more than the average person.

People like this make my blood boil

She is appealing the publication of it not the actual amount.

I would assume she does not wanting everyone knowing what her daughter will get .

She's certainly been made to look worse than she is by the media, I don't like her but her treatment by the red tops has been nothing short of outrageous.

As arriba said, 24 million out of 825 mill or whatever it is is not exactly going to ruin McCartney.

I'm not being funny but isn't he alleged to have slapped her about?

She did a pretty good job of making herself look bad. *cough* GMTV *cough*.

Obviously their kid should get all the financial support she needs.

What annoys me (in any divorce case) is the wife (or husband) getting ££££ of money that they have in no way contributed to earning. Way of the world I suppose.

With 24 mill in the bank she could fly "Here, There and Everywhere" first class, although I'm sure the "Taxman" might be after her.  And as for appealing she should just "Let it be".

Ms Mills made reference to the £35,000 a year their daughter would receive.

"Beatrice only gets £35,000 a year - so obviously she's meant to travel B class while her father travels A class, but obviously I will pay for that."

your medals in the post dear. :-))(

I think she should be mega chuffed with that amount. Obviously McCartney has far more so it's proportionately not as bad as a lot of cases. Still think it is excessive to say the least, but that's the way every divorce is nowadays.

She'll need a bit of money to give luxuries to her daughter, otherwise Macca could play favourites with the dosh.

She should take the money, shut up and get her face out of the red tops and the Daily Mail.

She could live off the bloody interest of 24 mill silly bitch.

banging on about how shes done so much charity etc.  I hate people that blow their own trumpet on charity related stuff. What does she want, a medal for doing something thousands of other people do with far less money?

Can't stand the woman.

Pre-nup doesn't exist in British law and so isnt enforcable in this country...

I'd heard that to McLovin, those agreements aren't worth the paper they're written on.

I hate charity people that bang on about how much they do for charity, not just her, but all of them, just do it, don't brag about it.

Perhaps the reason she bangs on about it is to counter-balance the rather harsh portrayal of her provided by the red tops? This in turn, is then turned against her.

Really, what's happened between him and her is no-one else's business. And let's be honest, the man who was in The Beatles is always going to be looked upon more favourably than someone who took their clothes off once.

I for one think that he is a prize prick and needs to take a long hard look at himself.

If the long term wife of Paul was divorcing him, after helping himin his career raise his children, be there for him through thick and thin, and then divorced him wanting £100m, I'd say fair play.  Her involvement in his life made it possible for him to be the success he is.

However if some woman comes along marries a multi multi multi millionaire, then divorces him after a few years, how is she entitled to £100 mill?  The settlement was fair enough and that should be the end of it.

If she doesn't want the publicity stay of of programmes like GMTV crying about Jonathan Ross jokes.

Oh I agree that the settlement is fair, just don't like the public witch-hunt that went on during the case!

I don't follow celebrity culture so I don't know what she said or did, but I would imagine she had no choice other than to go on these programmes to defend herself.

And to be fair, I get upset about Jonathan Ross jokes too. Very upset. Right there is a man who needs to know what a mouth full of broken teeth tastes like.

And breath...

It's a shame that enough people think it's important enough for it to be news. Fucking moronic society.

I fucking, with a passion, hate the term 'ring fenced'. Was the phrase of choice not so long back that pissed me off so much.

Heather Mills is, frankly, a waste of human flesh. IMO of course.

Is it?

If you put something in Trust, it normally means you can't ever benefit from it again. Unless the provisions of the Trust allow that.

My solicitor offered to draw up some kind of agreement when me and Nic bought the house as to who gets what % of the equity if we split and sell the house, due to me paying more of the deposit. I didn't feel the need and can't really see the point in pre-nups, if you  think you need some kind of agreement in case you split up then you're obviously not ready to live together.

And I've just noticed I keep writing Trust with a capital 'T'. Damn corporate infliction  :x

You can't ring fence your assists completely in anticipation for a divorce. Not currently in English Law. All your assets will be taken into account

If you're 40, been married to the same bird for 10 years, have kids together, and (more of a leeway than a decider) she's been helping support you in any way at all. Then she'll get some of your assets whatever you've previously signed (obviously it works if you swap the genders around too).

Unless you relinquish control of assets to a third party, or have a solicitor who's very good at saying you have less than you have. Then all assets will be taken into account whatever you've signed.
