Mine was a 1984 B Fiat Uno 55s, i got if off my grandad for nothing as he couldn't drive anymore.

It was mint, he owned it from new and despite it being old, even when i acquired it (it had 20k on the clock, fsh and smelt new), I'd trashed it before it even had 55k on the clock. If it wasn't for the fact i was 17, i think i would've felt very bad. I'm pretty ashamed of myself in hindsight.

a 3 year old V Reg Fiat Strada 1.6 twin cam 105tc Abarth back in 84, fast as fudge and dirt cheap insurance, no rust whatsoever back in the day when you could insure a sporty car cheaply as an 18 year old.

Kept it 3 years and swapped it for a MK 2 RS2000....nice.

My first car that i actually owned is my current 53 plate Ibiza, however I spent my student summer holidays in a L reg fiesta 1.1L driving to and from building sites with the seats down and using it like a van, the poor car was a heap once I'd done with it.

I never 'owned' a car in England.

The first one that I did was an old BMW, it looked good but it was old and heavy, so heavy that the misses could not drive it: No power steering, I think that my biceps got a tad larger through driving the tank.

I had two crashes in it, not serious as nobody was injuired, but both times the brakes failed, and by failed I mean they where just kaput.

The second crash resulted in me driving from Cambodia to Bangkok with a fucked radiator.

To cut a long one short I got rid and bought a Toyota from new which has never let me down once (Touches wood)

You know you used to get those ace little toy cars that you'd sort of wind up by pulling them back loads, and then they'd zip off into the distance? Well I had one that was was basically a big lego block on wheels which could do the same (well not that big, about the size of the little cars you'd get). You could then build up the lego on top making a crazy car and make it go off tables and stuff, crashing into a heap of bit's on the floor. Mental fun when you're about 7. Actually it still sounds like mental fun now.

I used to build a small arena and make the car battle my hamster. Or try and make my hamster ride the little car, despite the hamster being slightly bigger.

Good old Frodo the hamster. Frodo is dead now  :( .

Frodo was ace. He lived for about 5 years. Which I believe is pretty good for hamsters. Especially as his eye fell out at some point.

I had a string of hamsters as a kid. When I was  really young apparently we had two different types which broke the hamster living solitary rule by sort of loving it up as a gay couple. Until the bigger one ate too much and sort of exploded, and my mum discovered the little one eating the contents of it's insides.

I wish I'd been old enough to have remembered that. Would have been fucking awesome. Not too old though, I reckon between 5 and 8 would be the optimum age range to fully appreciate a hamster cannibalising it's gay ex-lover.

It was decent 'til I got my hands on it, cost about £1200 if I remember rightly, in '93.

Caned it up and down the M4 to various raves and footy before jump starting it to use as a trade in a couple of years later.

Remember the night coming back from Brunel with about 8 people in there? Think there was 2 on the front passenger seat, me driving, 4 in the back and 1 in boot and the police went past the other way and I had the main beam on...blinded them. Saw the reverse lights and blues light up and we caned it down the farmers lane round the corner, I killed the lights and drove into some bushes. The old bill went flying past, we waited 5 mins and continued our journey to the session.  :o

1.1 M-reg fiesta azure, £1300, navy blue. lasted for 4/5 years until i sold it for £50 on the day of its MOT expiry. had done about 18k when i got it, and 70k when sold. servicing was getting a bit silly by the end, due to the cost. did serve me well though, doing trips to cornwall/norwich/oxford and a number of away matches all over the country. i used to rag it about, being so small and light it drove alright.

am now looking at a £300 clio automatic to hopefully last me a few months, or perhaps a scooter/ped.
