Firstly

Anybody who knows my house knows how warm it is and that I rarely have the heating on, but yesterday there was a real chill in the air and even with the heating on MAX I was still cold.

here is a pic of my bedroom, note the large mirror on the right hand side.....

So I am working at home yesterday and working downstairs in the lounge, which is directly below my bedroom.

At about 1.30 I went upstairs to get my memory stick from my briefcase and all was "normal".

Went downstairs and loaded a presentation on it that I had been working on (this took less than 10 minutes) and went back upstairs to return the stick to my case.

As I got to the top of the stairs I could see the large mirror propped against the doorway, like so

I could understand if it had just fallen off the wall but ................

I was working directly below it, so why didnt I hear it crash to the floor ?

How did it end up approx 15ft away placed in the doorway to the bedroom ?

my house is old too - when we moved in the old owners gave us some minging old teeth in a jar - they belonged to the first owner of the house a lady that lived and died in it - my boyfriend threw them away (to be honest they were foul) and we have had weird stuff happen!

Mate there is no way you wouldn't have heard that.  That mirror is huge.  Was there any damage to the mirror? ie. on the edges or is it in perfect state?  Are there any fingerprints round it/on the mirror?

i've seen a toilet roll middle spin on its own when stood up waiting to be thrown out.walked into the bathroom and there it was spinning.then it stood up again.

Looking at the first picture, where is the door in relation to it?

I once got blind drunk and then when I woke up my mirror in my room was smashed into loads of pieces. That was spooky.

If you look at the second picture Batch the wall on the left was where is was screwed to, approx 15 ft from the doorway on a diagonal

OK:

Either:
A- It's fallen off the wall, impact cushioned by the bed, and 'rolled' to the door

OR
B- The previous occupant is protesting about the lack of a light shade.

OR
C- This is a hoax.

Pics were taken last night/tea time for demonstration purposes the last thing I thought about when it happened was getting my camera

Perhaps a freak of nature/physics but.

I remember once picking up a mate from his appartment, it was night and I was to park up outside his appartment and wait for him to come down.

I parked at the front of a row of cars in front of a black SUV. And the wife and just chatted and ilstened to tunes for the 10-15 minute that it took my mate to come down.

He arrived and got into the car, and so I set off. Upon looking into my rear view mirror I had noticed that the SUV had gone.....

For starters had somebody jumped in a drove it away then I would without a doubt noticed the light from his/her headlights.

But even had the SUV been driven away with the driver forgetting to turn his lights on then it would still have been an absolute impossibility for them to move without me moving my car.

I don't beleive in ghosts and stuff but I remember my mate asking "Are you allright, you look a bit white"

My wife who was a witness to the event refuses to talk about it to this day.

Fred just wants an excuse to post pictures of his pit....in the probably forlorn hope that it might interest female TEF members ....fair play, but there's no such thing as ghosts.

Even Star Trek ghosts, where it turns out that it's some gaseous alien nebular taking advantage of memories or psychic energy or something, like in a Star Trek: Voyager episode? I'd look up what happens exactly, but I've got most of the episodes and can't be arsed.

 I never did finish downloading all of the Voyager episodes. That would mostly be because it's generally really shit. Not as shit as Enterprise, and not as non-star-treky but soap operaish as DS9, but not as good as its potential. And without the awesome scale that Next generation pulled off; going from B-Movie in the style of the original series, up to mad space politics involving Borgses and Romulans; it's pretty much got nothing going for it. Apart from the occasional interesting Borg story, and Jeri Ryan in Star Fleet uniform so tight that she kept fainting on set (just don't look at her face, that's a bit of a turn off).

Janeway spends most of her time walking a pretty dull line between being Captain and worrying about how the crew are missing their loved ones. Kirk and Piccard spent their time doing stuff.

Don't get me started on the black DS9 American History X dude. He manages to turn everything space related into some sort of 50's USA civil rights movement bollocks. On the occasions he's not doing that, you've got some continuous thinly veiled holocaust subtext. I would normally find such things interesting, but for like 10 series, of the same story over and over? Answer = Black Jews shouldn't be Space Station Captains.

And instead of Enterprise they should have clearly made a Captain Sulu series, set a decade or two after Star Trek VI. That would have been fucking awesome. Maybe. Better than Enterprise anyway. It's not as if George Tekai (or whatever he's called) is doing much with his big gay arse.

Random rant of the day completed.

Sometimes I start typing wherever my brain takes me. It can be a bit random at times. I like to think it's a good thing on the TEF (even if nobody has any interest in what I'm saying). Maybe not so good when it comes to alcohol fuelled pub voice speak. With girls. That I don't know. My running away ratio isn't great (great==low, !me&&them, death==adder).

At 21 I brought a lovely batchelor pad in Windsor, brend new.
Lovely place but the lounge was always coldish, I asked for the builders to come round and check why the room wouldn't heat but they couldn't find anything wrong.
Then one evening I asked my sister and her hubby to come round for a meal, when they parked in the communal car park (my flat was on the second floor) they came upstairs and knocked on the door. My sister said who's that attractive woman, is it a new girlfriend. I said what are you on about. She said we saw her waving to us when we parked the car. Told her she was nuts or was looking at the wrong flat. Two weeks later a neighbour said to me, nice lass you are going out with but she dresses a bit old fashionded, now this I thought was just a bit weird..
So I made a bit of research, the location of my flat and the height of the window was were they use to have the gallows, the name of the road use to be called 'Hung Womens Lane', the last person hung in Windsor was at the location of my window. I sold two months later, now I don't believe in spooks make your own mind up.

I never believed in ghist until I moved to Chard in a 300 year old cottage and all kinds of wierd sighting and bang/noises started happening in the cottage.

My 6 month old nephew just sat on the bed in the 4th bedroom the smallest one and stared at the window (curtains drawn) and started laughing out loud for 5 minutes non stop with nothing to look at.

A guest of ours heard out dog scrathing and huffing and puffing at her bedroom door at about 1.30am, she paid no attention as we have a dog.....the dog was in our bedroom 3 bedrooms away locked in at the time  :shock:

Caught glimpses several times of walking "images" in the hallway but when you turn and look there is nothing there.

lived in haunted fla in brum, loads of things happened, didnt particularly bother me, but did my girlfriend who was terrified in there. worst thing ghostie did was sit on the end of my bed just as i was getting comfy, that put the fear of god in me.

i dunno if i believe in ghosts as ive never experienced anything like whats been mentioned on here, although i dont mind saying if i did experience summat i would shit my pants and cry my eyes out.

I have lucid dreams and suffer with night terrors, which is essentially total paralysis when you're caught in state of nearly asleep and pumped full of G.A.B.A.

When i was younger it used to scare the living shit out of me, still does at times, i even saw a doctor about it as a child because it can be genuinely terrifying.

I often quite like it nowadays because it always makes me rush my box off. The way it takes place is as follows. As i dose off, i sometimes start to feel kinda light, then i get a rushing sound in my ears, like when you close your eyes hard.

I often keep my eyes closed, as it's regularly quite fun. I eventually start to feel like i'm doing summersaults or something. At this point it can often intensify, and be accompanied by hyper-sensitivity around my neck, and i sometimes start hearing strange noises. If i then open my eyes i'm unable to move, feel like i'm violently shaking and have to stay as i am to regain focus, and become fully awake.

Anyway, often when i open my eyes, i've heard voices and seen things moving, i even once saw a child-sized woman on my chest beating it. Partly because i'm pretty much asleep and partly because i don't believe my eyes, i nearly always keep my eyes open until i am fully awake and regain movement. Fuck me though, sometimes i wish i could scream and when i was just a tacker, i did, much to my parents distress.

Not ghost related as such, but certainly makes you question your own sanity!

I've had that in the past Barry, the paralysis thing, effin scarey at the time, sometimes I'll be asleep wake up then realise I can't move my arms or legs, then after a while it sorts itself out.
