Title: Eduardo Da Silva Post by: JPC82 on Saturday, February 23, 2008, 13:01:57 stretchered off after 2mins of the Birmingham vs Arsenal game, sky said the replay was so horrific they will not show it on tv for the fear of upsetting people.
Hopefully plays again, by the sound of it could be a career ender. Title: Eduardo Da Silva Post by: STFC Village on Saturday, February 23, 2008, 13:05:30 I'm really pissed off i missed the first 5 minutes
Title: Eduardo Da Silva Post by: Panda Paws on Saturday, February 23, 2008, 13:05:43 What makes this worse is that it seems to be the result of an horrific challenge. A lot of serious injuries are from innocuous tackles, but this sounds bad
Title: Eduardo Da Silva Post by: blinkpip on Saturday, February 23, 2008, 13:07:02 I want to see the sending off.
Title: Eduardo Da Silva Post by: STFC_Gazzza on Saturday, February 23, 2008, 13:10:13 Sounds pretty bad... best wishes to him

Title: Eduardo Da Silva Post by: BANGKOK RED on Saturday, February 23, 2008, 18:51:55 How old is he "Da Silva" I mean.
Apprantly Wenger has come out and stated that whoever commited the tackle (I forget his name) should never play again. I a way I do agree with Wenger, although maybe a life time ban may be a bit much. I think that such tough tackles should deserve more than a 3 match ban, although did the guy deliberately intend to break Da Silvas leg?, I doubt it very much. Title: Eduardo Da Silva Post by: blinkpip on Saturday, February 23, 2008, 18:57:25 Eduardo studs got stuck, as the player made a challage. I think it would be very harsh to ban him for life.
Title: Eduardo Da Silva Post by: Luci on Saturday, February 23, 2008, 18:58:06 Taylor was hugely shaken up so it seems.
I think he should get longer than 3 matches but I think having to live with what hes done for a significant period of time is enough punishment as it is. Title: Eduardo Da Silva Post by: Batch on Saturday, February 23, 2008, 19:06:42 Hard to judge from that youtube clip, but it looked to me that Taylor went for and got to the ball but his momentum carried him into Edwardo. It didn't look like a deliberate lunge in, or even an attempt at a foul. Horrible as it is, it's just one of those things that happens.
Title: Eduardo Da Silva Post by: janaage on Sunday, February 24, 2008, 11:57:17 Wenger has since retracted the statement calling for Taylor to be banned.
Just since the incident on Match of the Day (Sky Plus) and it didn't look like a dreadful tackle just unfortunate. Fair play to Wenger for having a change of heart though. I think he should get longer than 3 matches but I think having to live with what hes done for a significant period of time is enough punishment as it is. Nonsense, it clearly wasn't malicious. It wasn't like Ben Thatcher running 50 yards out of his way to smash Pedro Mendes in the face. The punishment for a straigh red card is 3 games so that's what he should serve. Sadly it's a risk footballers have to play with, they've generally got it pretty easy so you've just got to accept these things happen and try to get on with it. It does look absolutely horrendous though. Double compound fracture, yikes. Title: Eduardo Da Silva Post by: strooood on Sunday, February 24, 2008, 14:28:23 good job he's on over 50 grand a week and will get a hefty insurance payout.
i think the tretment martin taylor is getting is nothing short of disgusting and wenger should be ashamed of himself. Title: Eduardo Da Silva Post by: sonic youth on Sunday, February 24, 2008, 14:48:46 wenger did retract his comment fairly swiftly though.
Title: Eduardo Da Silva Post by: strooood on Sunday, February 24, 2008, 15:11:05 good, sour french cunt.
Title: Eduardo Da Silva Post by: ajdavies on Sunday, February 24, 2008, 15:39:53 He should serve a ban that is as long as Eduardo's injury, basically if Eduardo is back in two years so is the C*nt Taylor. Rant over.
Title: Eduardo Da Silva Post by: Chubbs on Sunday, February 24, 2008, 17:28:03 people agreeing with wengers original comment, its the dumbest thing i have ever heard.
Likes DMR said, Thatcher should be banned for life in that case, as shuold stephen hunt. Title: Eduardo Da Silva Post by: mattboyslim on Sunday, February 24, 2008, 17:43:25 It was a bad tackle, but like others have said I genuinely don't believe it was a malicious tackle. Whilst most players are total idiots, they are human, and I'm sure Taylor is feeling pretty damn horrible about the whole incident right now. Hopefully Eduardo has the healing qualities of Henrick Larsson who came back after a similarly horrible looking injury.

Title: Eduardo Da Silva Post by: Spud on Sunday, February 24, 2008, 22:25:48 It was a bad tackle but he got the punishment he deserved (Red Card) and i dont honestly believe there was any malicious attempt in the tackle itself.
