Title: Leeds tickets
Post by: myxo on Wednesday, February 13, 2008, 12:42:24
Hi friends and wellwishers, I've been out of town for a while and am currently out of the loop, has anybody managed to get Leeds tickets from the ticket officewithout a Northampton ticket stub yet?

The site informs me that they were available from Monday but they're still unavailable online. I can't quite believe they would've sold out yet?

Is all this strictly necessary, it's only Leeds for fuck sake (straight up I'd still be going that weekend if it was Boston)

They have been on general sale since the 9th............the only time you could get them before that was if you purchased a ticket at the same time as your Northampton one but you don't need a Northampton stub.  Oh and they're also not sold out, plenty left.

Swindon Vs Leeds has never been a draw, I dont see what the fuss is all about.

The attendence will be good, purely because Leeds will fill the away end.

And due to 24 hour drinking brought in by this Government, should it really make a difference that the game has been brought forward by an hour?

Leeds played at Northampton a few weeks ago, and their police could put up with a 3pm KO, so why not ours.

If anyone is upset you'll all lose beer time then 'spoons opens at 9am. I don't imagine most people get to the pub that early on a home match day.

If you're really desperate you could always steal a Fosters from Miss Angry's fridge in the morning.

The more I think about the kick off situation the more it gets on my nerves

What is the point in kicking off an hour earlier?

If the police think that there is that much chance of trouble why isnt it a 12.30 kick off?
And why do they think there will be so much trouble compared to us playing Bristol rovers for example?
Why?
Why?
Why?

The point of moving it to 2pm is try and stop people from getting as drunk as they can do for a 3pm kick off.

It does make a difference if u have been drinking the night before,  sometimes its hard to wake up and start drinking straight away!

It hasnt been moved to 12.30 kick off because of the distance involved.  Dont want to upset the majorty of law abiding leeds fans and make them leave too early.

There was trouble at leeds and police are expecting more trouble at the GC because of this.

I also heard rumors leeds fans are gonna be in town end, it happened at Northampton aswell.

From http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/northamptonshire/7237444.stm
Police in Northamptonshire arrested 18 Leeds United football fans before and during the club's clash with Northampton Town.
Two supporters were detained outside the Sixfields ground before the game for threatening behaviour.

Two more were arrested during the match for threatening behaviour.

Some 14 are being questioned about violent disorder following an incident at a pub in Semilong, said a Northamptonshire Police spokeswoman.

She added that 10 visiting supporters were thrown out of the ground during the first half after they were found in the home stands.

I think you'll be alright, in fact SY, if my brother decides against coming along I have a spare ticket (in the Arkells though) so I'll pm you if you want.

Back to the Leeds thing, just been reading 606 and some of their fans seem pretty convinced their going to get their 15 points back.  I really would be baffled if this happened.  The FL never tend to go back on decisions made but will be interesting to see the outcome!

Amazing what high powered layers can achieve isn't it.

It would make a mockery ogf the FL if the decision is reversed, regardless of who reverses it (arbitration/FL/high court). Surely that is giving a green light to simply do what you want and go to the court if the FL try and sanction it.

Whisper this quietly, I don't agree with them being let off, but you can't blame Bates for trying.

Look at Juventus. 27 court appeals ending in a massively reduced sentence. That says that the ends justify the means.

If we had to live the 2 division demotion again (god forbid), I'd hope we'd fight tooth and nail to stop it happening  too.

Looking at the table, they probably need the 15 points back to go up.

After last weeks defeat against Walsall, most fans would say the play-offs are a distant dream for us...but if we beat them tomorrow, we'll be on the same number of points as them !!!

True. Only problem is there are too many teams chasing 6th spot. We won't make it. Probably won't even be that close.

I love the way Leeds are above us, you could stick 15 points on their total and they would still only be joint 5th, yet there are still people who think we'll get in the playoffs

What a let down on the attendance. 12,000 sold by Thursday and only another 1000 odd Friday/Saturday.

GAHHHH it pisses me off that so many fans turned up today but will disappear till the next big game, or just a game that will involve fighting.
