Sorry if this is abit heavy,but was reading today that a student in Afghanistan has been sentenced to death for downloading material of the internet!..this wasnt dodgy stuff but western material which may have helped his studies,ime all for respecting peoples religion but this is shocking,but whats even worse is that the new regime which has been sanctioned by the west has upheld the decision when he appealed,so what is the point in getting rid of the Taliban if the new leaders just continue to be just as barbaric.

 Well the point is under the Taliban, Afghanistan was a training camp for terrorists....they could have quite happily carried on contravening human rights, if they supported the West.....plenty of other regimes in recent times have and many still continue to do so.

  After the twin towers attack,  Afghanistan became ripe for regime change, as long as the new regime, are pro western in foreign policy they'll get a free rein in domestic policy.

Perhaps if we stopped tying to export or force our west views on other nations the world would be a better place. Why do we feel as a country that we should act as a moral arbitrator for the world? We in some respects are no better what with detation without trail, police who haev the power to hold football supporters without reason for up to 9 hours, fuck me our police can even close down a party based purley on the BPM of the music being played! We even reward stupid people who get pregant at a very young age by giving them benfits and a house yes yes we turely are so superior!

Was the guy aware of the consequences after what he was doing when he did it? Considering that he is a reporter I would suspect that he knew full well what the implications where yet went right ahead and did it anyway, and got caught.

If is a case of supporting a young person, who has made a genuine mistake and needs support then I am all fot it. After all we are in a position to do so.

The sad thing is that there are so many out there who wish to exploit the system, popping out as many kids as possible in order to get as many free handouts as they can and sitting on their fat lazy fucking arses for their whole lives whilst folk like us work and pay taxes.
