I am going to go to this meeting on Saturday morning and see exactly what evidence they are prepared to put on the table. I will also present my case and witness statements and see how they wish to proceed before taking this any further.

Sounds more like it was instigated by one man's desire for petty revenge. Fred "outed" him as Chief Steward on several forums in December as Mr Moorehouse was attempting to gain access to private forums. He (Moorehouse, not Fred) also made something of a fool of himself by trying to pass himself as a serving soldier in Iraq, a somewhat tasteless act on his part really. All in all, Moorehouse ended up with egg all over his face (of his own making) and sounds like he's a man to bear a grudge.

That's far too extreme. If they refused you entry to Yeovil then fair enough, but you didn't do anything wrong to be banned.

The whole stewarding at the club is tosh, there are a few good ones but teh majority pick on people they can bully.  They tried to get someone at Walsall yesterday (WFC stewards) and they didnt bargain on his mates and general lads jumping in.  More of this needs to be done, stick together etc

Can I offer a bit of advice ?

Wait for your letter confirming your potential ban, Go to the meeting on Sat, let them have their say, have your say and if they insist on banning you insist on talking to Nick Watkins the New CE to discuss this with him and explain the situation to him.

I would suggest though that they have no authority to 'ban' you, as surely as this was not at the CG this would have to have been dealt with by the police  / courts for you to be banned from other grounds i.e the CG, as it was you was refused entry you did not cause trouble and left of your own accord so not sure what 'evidence' they may have.

the football ground is private property they can ban who ever they want. no-one has an right of entry to anywhere apart from maybe the house of parliment. If a pub can refuse you entry without reson do not not think a football club can do the same? everyone asussume they have the rght to do everything when in fact you have very little rights.

if they wanted to be asrey they can ban everyone who wore a grey top!! think yourself lucky that they are giving the chap a chance to see why he has been banned and to give his side of the story.

Quite true, but I doubt the "club" has much knowledge of what the "safety" guys are up to half the time, they certainly had little knowledge in the past when questioned about Stewards behaviour and instructions.

Ask to see the new CE, he's just said he wants to create the Swindon Experience, I doubt that involves being refused entry unless absolutely necessary.

Well I think if there is a ban then the reason needs to be properly established. If it was for persistantly trying to get into the ground whilst having had a few then I think the ban is totally unfair. I can't think why else they would make a ban though, other than kicking up a stink about the incident afterward.

Perhaps they have found your (Fred's) behaviour threatening after the initial incident and perhaps see you as a safety risk (I know that to not be the case but some of the posts were quite vitriolic).

Unfortunately, whether this Moorehouse person is running a vendetta or not, anyone who has form for trying to get in to a football ground while being leathered is going to have a difficult time arguing their case.

Lots of us have a drink or two before games - but if you're visibly the worse for wear when trying to gain entry to the ground (ie a little unsteady on your feet and slurring while talking) I can understand the security staff having reservations about allowing entry.

I'm not saying that Fred was in this state.  (I don't even know the man.)  But if he was, the security staff would simply argue that the person trying to gain entry was sufficiently intoxicated to be a threat to other supporters...and it would be very difficult to argue a case against this.

I don't know the full facts of the case and I'm not trying to dish out advice - other than to say you should probably tread carefully.

Ardiles, not allowing a drunk person into a ground may be understandable and I don't really think that is being debated here.

My mate got turned away for being 'too drunk' last season against Bury (at home). He'd had 3 pints of IPA and was not drunk. The stewards made him go get a coffee and then let him in 10 mins after kick off. I'm certain they wanted to pick on someone. They'd searched all us lads before letting in the ones who'd had 5 pints of Stella. Rediculous.

I hope Fred's ban is overturned. Perhaps you could suggest they speak to Yeovil police for any reported incident? I know others were there that had been drinking but I wouldn't make a point of this because they will just think they are making an example of anyone that has a few to drink before the game and dares to question his refused entry.

I would change "alleged accusations" to "accusations" as the accustion is definite and in writing.

As to whether the club has the power to stop you attending away games all they need do is advise the home club not to admit you and the chances are that they won't.

I've been thinking about this and surely banning any individual should be the very last resort.  It's not good for anyone, the club nor the individual.  Now if you were violent in any way shape or form then I suppose the club have a right to tell you to stay away and you'd have to accept that.

However if you were just under the influence (shock if you were Fred, it's not like it was Christmas) and got carried away a little (when you were refused entry that you'd spent a few hours and over £20 to get to/in) then surely a warning would suffice.

In who's interest is it to ban you.  The club lose money, damage their own reputation and you lose a regular past time every Saturday.

I just do not understand the logic behind this decision.  As you've put in your letter see what evidence they have and take it from there.

Apart from the apparent police and stewards, I bet they won't find one person who witnessed you being drunk and abusive towards them.  I'm assuming they have witnesses ie other fans who can back them up?.....or not?

Unfortunately I think these bastards can do what they want. I got banned for life after the Newport away game ( and banned for life from Newport ) when we got relegated. I got my banning letter before I actually went to court. I still went home and away anyway. I think they could have only done me for trespass if they found me.
I challenged the ban on the basis I was nicked before the game and could have been visiting relatives. Alos that I am innocent before being found guilty. they couldn't care less.
I subsequently got my ban lifted after about 5/6 years by a director at the club I happen to have got pissed with.  
To be honest the ban made absolutely fuck all difference to my attendance at games. I even had a season ticket in my name whilst officially banned.
Anyway, best of luck. I hope common sense prevails.

I read here what Fred said earlier. If I'm reading this the right way, Fred has done some sort of deal with Shithouse that involves him (Fred) not discussing his banning order on the forums, presumably in return for a favourable outcome to Shithouse's enquiry.

If Shithouse has broken that deal by posting something on the Adver forum then he needs his fucking nuts ripped off by Fitton.

The fact that the referred to thread on the Adver site was quickly pulled down after being aired here, suggests to me that there is a fucking good chance that it was Shithouse posting as the piddler or whatever fucking name he used.
