Title: Nokia N70
Post by: OneAndrewFitton on Monday, December 17, 2007, 23:40:38
Anyone got one of these? I was thinking about purchasing one for someone as a present for xmas, argos are selling them for £80 now, i know they have 3G on them, the only thing it doesn't have on it is WLAN so it would cost to access the mobile internet.

I've never used one so i just wondered if anyone on here has one or has had one so they could tell me if they are any good or not.

What do you need to know? WLAN picks up wireless internet hotspots etc ... Works great on my N95. Useful to listening to radio/surfing etc.

Avoid!  The N70 is old-school.   I rolled out 100 in a 3G network trial when they were launched and 12 months on only 2-3 are left in service and countless were replaced due to poor reliability and a general tendency to tits-up.

I’d recommend the new 6300 at around the same price as a good solid handset that’ll last, looks good and is not a breeze block like the N95.

It’s not 3G but if you don’t browse the T’Internet beyond checking the footy as most people do then it’s a waste of money and pocket space.
