Trying to register a website for example www.smith&smith.com, what I dont understand is can you use & (instead of and) in a website?

Use only letters, numbers, or hyphen ("-")
Cannot begin or end with a hyphen
Must have less than 63* characters, not including .COM, .NET and .ORG
